There's still a lot of summer left to go. Here is what Kirsten will be reading until the leaves begin to drop:
The BEAR by Andrew Krivak: A while ago, a friend recommended a novel about a bear, so I read BEAR, by Julia Phillips, thinking that was the one. Turns out I read the wrong bear novel! I loved it, but this is the novel she meant, about the last human on earth and a bear who helps her.
FOLLOWED BY THE LARK by Helen Humphreys: This novel about Henry David Thoreau, inspired by his letters and diaries, looks a treat. I am ever on a biographical novel kick.
THE UPSIDE-DOWN WORLD: Meetings with the Dutch Masters by Benjamin Moser: I love old paintings, and expect to love this book about old Dutch painters (Rembrandt and Vermeer among them) and how their lives and art speak to us today.
No borrows? No problem! Titles in hoopla's Bonus Borrows program don't count against your limit, and they're available July 25-31! Enjoy hoopla all month long! https://www.hoopladigital.com/collection/30266

Whether it's on a sunny beach or inside with the A/C cranked up, here's what Megan will be reading this summer:
Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Jesse Q. Sutanto: I’ve had this on my TBR list for a while; looks like it would be a fun read to read in the shade on a hot summer day.
When Women Ran Fifth Avenue by Julie Satow: I’ve heard some great stories about Boston department stores in the 1950s from Simmons retail management alums. I’m hoping this book has similar stories from one of the shopping capitals of the world.
Unfortunately, our performer cannot make tonight’s Picnic in the Park performance so we need to cancel the 5:00 p.m. concert. Look for more information soon about when it will be rescheduled. Thanks!
UPDATE 7/10: Unfortunately, our performer cannot make tonight’s Picnic in the Park performance so we need to cancel the 5pm concert. Look for more information soon about when it will be rescheduled. Thanks!

We reached this year's Howe Annual Fund goal of $120,000!
On behalf of the library staff and Board of Trustees, thank you to all the individuals and businesses who helped provide for library resources like new books, DVDs, audiobooks, e-books, NYTimes.com, and programs for all ages. Your investment in the Howe helps staff achieve the library's mission of being an anchor for our vibrant community.
Join us Saturday, 6/29 from 1-2pm to celebrate the Racial Unity Team’s Annual Arts & Poetry Exhibition. The Arts & Poetry Challenge is the living breathing proof of the power of creating human connection through the arts. This challenge invites New Hampshire residents to submit their art, poetry, or sculpture based on a unifying theme.
The Fourth of July is next week! We'll be closed on Thursday, July 4. There is still time to stop by and get some cookbooks, movies, or something fun from the Library of Things collection for the holiday.
Summertime and the reading’s easy!
There's Always This Year: I've been hearing about how good this writer is for a while. Looks like it's time to finally dive in.
The Horse: I love W***y Vlautin's gritty but compassionate writing. This one is sure to bring more of the same.
Fire Exit: Morgan Talty's debut, Night of the Living Rez, was fantastic. Can't wait to get my hands on this one.
Liars: Very Cold People, Sarah Manguso's first novel, was one of my favorite reads of 2022. I'm betting this new one will make it on my 2024 list.
No borrows? No problem! Titles in hoopla Digital's Bonus Borrows program don't count against your limit, and they're available the last seven days of each month. Enjoy hoopla all month long! https://www.hoopladigital.com/collection/30266
