Iām really trying to fight back tears.......
In the summer of 2019 I decided to start my fertility journey.A 40 year old ( Still a virgin)chef with no potential husband insight. Then the pandemic hit and I had a failed IUI in the summer of 2020 and decided to put dreams of being solo mom by choice on hold and relocate back to New York with their were more private chef opportunities. As a Su***de survivor I started feeling depressed when I would look at my chef jackets, asking myself if I would ever cook again and then I had a interview with about possible private chef work back in New York and she shared some jewels about having a personal life and her how important that was for her .I realize that this was the perfect time to create the best of a lifetime .......thank you Danielle.
So after our conversation I made a appointment to have a IUI done with a midwife and with Accupuncture I became pregnant! I prayed and the Lord our God to send me a great man ......he sent me son!
To God be the glory ....Amen.
Heās due end of June!

Really enjoying the panelist so far .
I loved hearing women sharing their ups and downs and their continued faith in God helped them through the hard times of starting their business. Also I liked the dialogue about hair discrimination that I have been a victim of like so many black women and so happy California was the first state to make it a law, thank you to for signing the bill.
Itās a great day to watch black women share their stories and itās a blessing to be apart of.
Itās hot outside had to treat myself to a Beef š„© tartare ! Filet Baby!

Balance!
I had a very wonderful time this past weekend,it was a awesome to take a break from the norm and enjoy a celebration of our beauty and to fellowship with friends
It was disheartening to hear on the shuttle bus from a girl chanting ā Did you get free stuff from Curlfest make some noise! I donāt believe that is the purpose of the gathering ....this is my second year attending and just like last year I enjoyed my shopping! This year I discovered new brands and look forward to using them all.
Supporting a black business is not asking for a discount! Ladies thank you!

My mind is deeply troubled by the misinformation in the world that the Month of June is to be celebrated for Pride and deeply disturbed that African-Americans in position of power are acknowledging that as well. In 1979 President Jimmy Carter signed a proclamation that the month of June is Black Music Month and 30 plus years later President Obama also echoed his proclamation by signing another one.
The black community needs to hold not just people of color but current lawmakers democratic or republican,Corporate Companies and the media accountable for once again not acknowledging our contributions or worse the ignorance that āthey have February thatās enough āand putting us at the back the bus!
for me was the perfect post for this war cry.His voice...........Sometimes to accomplish change you must put the mirror in front of those who blind so they can see....
On a more personal note.....my last post was regarding my fundraiser to help end su***de and it was shared with me today that I need to be more direct and not give a option of well wishes.

My pass holiday wasnāt just to relax ,but someone back home requested a sea shell ,so after enjoying my conch salad I asked for it . The recipient was very happy when I arrived in Oakland with the gift. The process of that delivery was overwhelming and emotional and I had to refocus to help celebrate the life of my aunt.Whats incredible about her I didnāt hath to walk on egg shells to talk about the racial injustice in the hospitality industry in Oakland,Ca and surrounding cities as a young black woman being that she was a beautiful Mexican woman that my uncle loved......but more importantly she loved me to death! She was one of my biggest supporter in seeing Skillet Rose open. So upon returning home and working I channeled her love to deal with the the bigots around me at some of the places I worked.
While home the landscape of the culture is very dark....but for some ,not a lot or few,the only colors that matter are blue and gold.
Itās a blessing to enter to cheer and scream and not care. I got to sit next to the 1975 Champs, a former Warrior Girl from Japan šÆšµ and watch do Godās work on the court! When I got to NYC I met a wonderful family headed to the game from Oakland on the subway train and again those colors in my heart symbolizing unity.I was a good girl went to church šThey were just happy to represent their home city in Brooklyn at the Nets game. shared Godās scripture āWe havenāt seen, heard,or imagined the amazing things God has for those that loves himā When you feel like giving up and life is to hard and you want to exit this life.....just wait on the Lord ! Oh if isnāt a living testimony to beat a ā slumpā than I donāt know what is! Thatās not a headband....itās a crown !
