📍To those that don’t know -
I lost my luggage and medication with AA which led to waiting 10 days until I finally got a replacement refill. This trickled down to me being VERY inconsistent with my hours at the shop for the last 4 weeks. Experiencing being off my medication cold turkey was pretty hard on my body and still is which is why I still have had bad days (even though some days I think I feel 100% 🤦🏻‍♀️).

I just wanted to explain to you all where I’m coming from, and hope you accept my apology for being so inconsistent the last 4 weeks. Believe me, as a consumer there is nothing that bothers me more than showing up to a place that is closed. 😩 & as a business owner, the last thing I wanted was to be closed for 4 weeks considering we all know the bills don’t stop, even if we do.

😓 In a time where MANY businesses are closing and mental health is at an all time high, it's crucial to prioritize your well-being. As a business owner of 1, I understand the pressure of juggling countless tasks—from managing orders, CS, handling finances, communication and design work with manufacturers, extensive testing on each products formula, to launching products, managing social media, inventory, and currently being in 3 UTRGV programs. It’s a life I chose and LOVE, but I always find myself consumed by work, and forgetting to take care of myself.

Without personal breaks, our businesses will suffer. Neglecting mental health affects our work quality, leading to burnout. I’ve faced this challenge too many times, and I’ve learned that it’s essential to set aside time for self-care. Whether it’s sleeping in, unplugging from social media, enjoying a good book, or binge watching shows while eating pizza in bed, we all need those moments to recharge. 🫶🏼

🥺 For my friends/customers: I’ve gone over a week now with having zero control over my emotions and painful body aches. I decided to be open about how I’m on heavy medication for personal reasons and because my lost luggage contained my medication, that led me to a week without it. My luggage with valuables is completely gone and it wasn’t until yesterday that my doctor was able to approve a refill so I’m officially, slowly recovering. 🙏🏼

I just want you all to know how appreciative I’ve felt during this time, regardless of the pain. The patience and love I’ve received has kept me through this week. Thank you so much for your understanding as I have had to miss many days of work, along with my delay in responses.

The financial losses do not amount to what my mental health has suffered. So this is why I say to my entrepreneurs and friends/customers - please take time for YOU. Please learn to say no to things you can’t handle when your plate is heavy. Spoil yourself with a day that is filled with zero work, and 100% self care. We ALL deserve and NEED it. 🫶🏼

📍How do we clean the vessel?
Cleaning is a complimentary service! Don’t worry about wiping it clean, we take care of that in shop! 🧼

📍Is it ready immediately after?
I actually love this one because I’ve gotten it a few times. 😅 Unfortunately you cannot take hot melted wax in a container until it’s solidified - which takes about 1 to 2 hours.

📍What can I do nearby for 1-2 hours?

This planter is crafted from an eco-conscious and plant-based material, composed of a combination of bioplastic derived from corn (60%) and recycled wood fibers (40%). This sustainable material is completely biodegradable, and has a lifespan of over 80 years with normal use!

We love these for either plants, or as vases for our dried floral collection! 🌱

As a business owner with high-end, clean ingredients I AVOID pricing my candles as "luxury" (typically a 4-6+ mark up). It took me awhile to accept my prices will NEVER be B*W or Walmart prices BUT that's because I will NEVER provide cheap ingredients to you all.

Sales are so rare at Jade Candle Co, because of how competitive my pricing is when it comes to the ingredients and materials I use. My pricing is not focused on my profit (I don't profit yet) and it's not focused on my brand or image or "luxury" ingredients. I keep it competitive enough to not go under while still giving my community the option for CLEAN ingredients at a fair price.
