Ahhh, September! 🍂 Though it’s not officially fall, there’s something about the month of September that makes it feel like we’re in the fall season. Fun fact about me. I LOVE this time of year, especially fall weddings.

As I sit here and work vigilantly on my fall events, I can’t help but admire these beautiful pictures. Samira and Jose Pablo’s fall wedding was one I’ll never forget and gets me excited and motivated for the events to come this season.

Who else had a fall wedding? I’d love to hear all about it.

I’m researching bridal bouquets and came across some fun facts. I thought they were interesting so I have to share them.

💐 Language of Flowers: In the Victorian era, bouquets were used to convey messages through the language of flowers, known as floriography. Each flower carried a specific meaning, allowing brides to send secret messages to their beloved.
💐 Tossing Tradition: The tradition of tossing the bridal bouquet originated in England in the 14th century. It was believed that possessing a piece of the bride’s bouquet would bring good luck, leading to eager guests trying to grab a piece of it.

Consultation first followed by a booking. Two weeks later, the on-boarding session. Here we learn more about the experience you want to create and share with your guests, what’s important to you both and your expectations. Lastly, we take it from there. You’re along for the journey, but without the stress.

Coordination service, let’s talk about this for a minute.

This is the perfect service for the couple that comes to me and says “Hey Clara, I’m going to plan my wedding, but on the day of my wedding, I want to enjoy being the bride or being the groom“. This is the couple that is going to find their perfect venue, research and hire all the vendors needed, create the guest list and track it, remember their payment schedules, create plan B for inclement weather, design the seating chart, etc. You get where I’m going with this, they are going to plan their wedding from start to finish, but need someone to coordinate the wedding they’ve planned.

This is a popular service, in all honesty not one of my favorites, but a service we do offer. You’ll have to stay tuned to our full service planning and management description to understand why I’m not a fan of this service. 😊 Now, don’t get me wrong, I do understand that this service is ideal for some events too.

Believe it or not, this is the part of the wedding planning that gets overlooked most of the time; the wedding ceremony. We get so caught up in the details for everything else that we forget the most important part of the day. I can go on regarding this topic, but I’ll save that for another post.

When I on-board new clients to start their wedding planning journey, I’m often told that they are nervous that something is going to go wrong on their wedding day. It’s expected. We’ve all seen enough wedding movies like Father of the Bride and The Wedding Planner to convince us that something will go wrong.

Now, I’m sure you’re wondering what my response is to this. Here it is (I’ve always said this)…”Yes, things may, and can, go wrong, but with a strong team of vendors, proper planning and lots of communication we’ll execute an awesome wedding and be prepared to handle anything”.

The wedding of N+K at Quinta Mazatlan was just perfect! Our team consisted of 18 plus vendors ranging from the variety of entertainment to the bakers to the 3 catering teams (yes, 3), down to the transportation (I’d list them all but this post would be really long ☺️). Each vendor executed their service and provided their product perfectly. See, no one person can take credit for this. It starts with our clients vision, to understanding their likes and dislikes, and respecting their priorities. When we’ve done this we then move on to building the vendor team.

What I’m getting at is yes, we’ll have last minute issues to resolve and unexpected hiccups, but when your vendor team pulls together we execute a successful wedding.

So, let’s admire N+K’s decor for a moment. Isn’t this dinner table setup gorgeous?!? Kudos to .flowersrentals for their stunning work and talented team of designers.

Weddings on the 4th of July need a little touch of red, white and blue, right? How’d we do with these fresh floral pieces?

You guys, it is so hot out there! Wouldn’t you agree?!?

Our little old building and really old air-conditioning unit can’t seem to keep up with this heat, so I have no choice but to adjust our summer hours. If we’re hot in here, you’ll be hot in here, and we don’t want that experience for you, so we’re calling it quits at 2pm.

Not too worry though…everyones will still receive the attention they deserve. We will be working from home between 2pm and 5:30pm in the comfortable ac.

True story…

We not only plan and execute weddings, but birthday parties too. All types of events, actually.

So if you’re planning a birthday party, a corporate event, an anniversary dinner, a political rally, a beautiful baby shower, or any other special life event, give us a call. Not only are we great at wedding planning, but just as great with all types of events (if I say so myself 😉).

Your engagement photo session is usually your first official portrait shoot together, and probably the most beautiful photographs you’ll have of yourselves before you officially become a married couple. You’ll likely look back on these images in a couple of years, remembering this blissful time of excitement, promise, and happiness. These photographs should always be special, and we want to make sure that you are fully prepared for your engagement photo session with these engagement photo tips.

Tip #1 - Make it personally relevant! Plan and style your engagement shoot around who you are as a couple.

Tip #2 - Find a location that is special and unique to the two of you.

Tip #3 - Be adventurous! No location is off-limits or too far.

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted anything, so after my little encounter the other day I thought I’d jump on and reintroduce myself. 😂

I was grocery shopping (those who know me well know I live at H-E-B) and bumped into an old coworker. We made small talk, the usual “hi…how’s the family…blah blah blah”. She then asked what I was doing for work these days and I said “I’m still planning parties”. She gave me a strange look, like a confused look. She didn’t realize I was still running Social Situations and thought I went on to do something different.

Anyway, I figured that if that’s what she thought maybe others thought the same. Hence this post.
