Under the direction of Lolly Miller, Arts & Education Program Manager, an innovative endeavor- Angels Among Us Symposium- was recently held on our campus. Together we explored how angels live with us in everyday life and show up in unexpected ways. Following a keynote speaker, we took a look at the theme through the lens of the creative arts- reflective writing, music-making, a lyrical ballet and a dramatic skit based on a true story. The rich environment encouraged a great deal of personal reflection and social interaction. It was a unique way to encourage each of us to age well and live fully!

Thank you Interchange Group, Inc. for creating a fantastic day for VMRC residents.
Interchange Group employees were excited to volunteer their time to VMRC at the Rockingham County Fair. Each volunteer was paired with a resident to enjoy the festivities the fair had to offer on Senior Day. Joy, laughter, and friendships gained are only a few of the outcomes to this partnership. We can not wait until next year! THANK YOU!

Residents and team members were delighted to be on the shady hilltop of the VMRC Farm this Wednesday for Hilltop Reflections. Peg Engle read a reflection by Jim Engle – a thoughtful perspective on science and scripture, God’s incomprehensibility, and metamorphosis. A new resident in attendance (who just moved in on Monday) commented, “Well this sure is a view!” Thanks to our Farm crew, Life Enrichment team, and all who contribute to this unique and meaningful VMRC experience.

We are so thankful for all who have donated to our Compassion Care program. Because of this generosity, we are able to support the 30% of supportive living residents who have exhausted their resources and would otherwise have no way of attaining affordable care.

Our Compassion Care program is one of many programs we have to ensure the well-being of our residents, employees, and community. Thank you to all who volunteer and donate—this wouldn’t be possible without you!

We went all out for our VMRC 70th Birthday BBQ BASH! Last night, we had residents from all across campus come together to celebrate! We had music from musician Caleb Stine, smoked brisket sponsored by Sodexo (and prepared by a Sodexo Executive Team member from TEXAS), our VMRC chefs and bakers preparing the most amazing food, and staff/community volunteers lent a helping hand to make it all happen! It was a night of fun, laughter, fellowship and love!
