Congratulations to the 46 Cadets from the Duke BN who ran the “Spring Third Wi******er Battlefield HALF MARATHON” on April 27th. The group trained hard this semester, and, for many, this was their first Half Marathon! We also cleaned up at awards:

Last week the Duke Battalion kept busy, with the MS1 and MS2 classes learning how to complete a Platoon Reconnaissance mission and the MS3 class performing a Platoon Attack. Following this, the whole Battalion completed an 8-mile ruck march!

The Duke Battalion committed themselves to excellence this week. They followed an ACFT Tuesday with hard work at lab Wednesday. The MS1 and MS2 classes learned and practiced how to react to contact with an enemy, while the MS3 class planned and executed movement to contact.

JMU’s popularity among new students continues to soar James Madison University has eclipsed 40,000 undergraduate applications this year, the first time in school history. The record-setting total includes a 7% jump in Early Action applications compared to last year.

Today's senior spotlight is Sydney Bohn! CDT Bohn ranked top 20 in the nation. She will be commissioning as an active-duty Infantry officer. She says about her time in the Duke Battalion: "The Duke BN has set me up for success. I gained valuable leadership experience as BC last semester. Additionally, I’ve been able to learn Arabic with Project Global Officer in Morocco MS2 year and intern in Germany this past summer."

We’re always striving for improvement in the Duke Battalion!

These past two weeks, our MS3 class completed practical land navigation exercises, first showing our MS1s and MS2s how to properly conduct land navigation.
The underclassmen followed this up by learning about Formation Order Of Movement, or FOOM, while the MS3’s completed a land navigation course solo.
