Mystic Seaport Museum and Discovering Amistad are collaborating for the third year to bring a Juneteenth recognition event to the grounds of the Museum on June 19. FREE tours will be given of The Amistad ship , the 128-foot flagship of Connecticut. This special program is designed to honor African-American culture, to increase awareness and to highlight the roles that we all can play to dismantle racism.

MLK39: Racial Equity Mural Tour

“A New Dawn” by Ben Keller
1/5 murals unveiled as part of the Racial Equity Tour on Juneteenth. This mural features Dr Martin Luther King, Jr Amanda Gorman (Amanda Gorman) and Torrington’s own John Brown.
This is only the beginning of the Statewide tour to install 39 MLK themed murals across the Connecticut over the next year.
