Here is a great article to check out if you have had or are having a TKA in the future ππ»
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0972978X24001661
In this study, there was a 76% reduction in pain with participants with knee arthritis who did ACTIVE vs. passive modalities.
So what does this mean? Active exercise (strengthening) > Passive modalities (massage, passive stretching)
And something is ALWAYS better than nothing πͺπ»

πStaff Spotlight π Meet Amber Hilligas
Amber has worked as a Physical Therapist at Live Well for 9 years. She is trained and certified in LSVT BIG for the treatment of Parkinson's Disease. She also has a special interest in treating babies with Torticollis and helping women through their pregnancy and post-partum journeys.
βWhat I love most about my job is the relationships I am able to form with patients and their families. I love that we get to spend so much time with our patients, really getting to know and help them. Many of my patients become lifelong friends and truly feel like family.
My hobbies include spending quality time with my family. Our four kids keep us busy with their activities, and you will always find us cheering on the Huskers. Sunday mornings are my favorite day-where you can find us at church and teaching Sunday School. Camping is also a family favorite!
A fun fact about me is that I met my husband, Matt, at Creighton University (PT school), but you will only find us wearing red! π
Why choose Live Well? Live Well is a special place. Not only is the staff here extremely knowledgeable, they are also kind and fun. You will never be treated like just another number. At Live Well, you are familyβ.
Amber works at our North clinic on Mondays and Thursdays. Call to schedule with her today! 308-382-9700
