Our TomsMaHauL.com motorhome spot at Lake Hawkins RV Park. We've been in RV spots all around here over the years, but this is the first time in this spot. This spot is so long, Teri declares it "TomsMaHauL Blvd" while we're here. This spot ( #5) would be perfect if you have family visiting your site, or if you brought a boat. Great view of the lake. A nice covered pavilion (w/ fans) right next to us, where we sip our morning coffee and enjoy the view.
Trippin' w/ Tom & Teri & the TomsMaHauL.com motorhome will return to Lake Hawkins RV Park Aug 15-18. Among the fun, we'll, likely, see if Tom can finally win at one of the tetherball poles near our RV spot? Teri shows no mercy when it comes to tetherball. Tom might, finally, win if he focuses on the game, instead of focusing on Teri.

Our Story
Boasting some of the clearest water in East Texas, a huge white-sand beach, and Texas-size RV campsites, Lake Hawkins RV Park is a destination you’ll want to get-away to again and again.
From 1961-62, Lake Hawkins was one of four small lakes created in Wood County with earthen dams for flood-control purposes by the Sabine River Authority.1 Lake Hawkins is on the Little Sandy Creek which feeds into the Sabine River.2 The lake has a surface area of 776 acres and is fed by several springs which keep it noticeably clearer than most other East Texas lakes and at a relatively stable level even in the worst droughts.
Lake Hawkins Park was built in 1990 in cooperation with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department on property owned by Wood County with federal taxes collected under the Sport Fish Restoration Act.3 In 2018, Wood County began leasing the park out for private management.

Reviews:
"They do allow you to reserve a specific site. They have a large area for tent campers, a very nice sandy beach, boat ramp, fishing pier, volleyball courts and a couple of cabins for rent. It's about 4 miles to the town of Hawkins, where there's a grocery and a few other stores. It's about 26 miles to Tyler." RV Park Reviews
"Mgmt was super friendly and accommodating. Beautiful park....well maintained. Allowed parking on the grass. Lake is gorgeous and has a large swimming area and beach. Large pine trees all over." Yahoo Travel
"We have been to this place several times and have always noticed the courteous staff and beautiful scenery. The beach is great and we definately enjoy the water sports. Our kids enjoyed catching perch from the little pier they have." Yahoo Travel
"Tall pine trees around level concrete pads. White sandy beach. Quiet." RV Parking.com
