Why Chiropractic?

I’ve always been interested in topics of health and how we as humans can maintain our bodies in optimal function in different areas (physical, mental, emotional, etc.) in the most natural ways possible. I never knew the integration of all these concepts in chiropractic until I had a sports injury and someone recommended me to visit a chiropractor. When I received chiropractic care for the first time I felt so much more than pain relief; It felt like a reconnection with myself and an upgrade in my daily life activities. I wanted to share the message of how an adjustment can shift the way the body works in removing interference, reconnecting and healing on a deeper level. We are programmed to believe that the only way we can heal is from external forces (like medications/ pharmaceutical)that give us instant but not lasting relieve, that we have to treat a symptom instead of preventing it. Since that day I’ve felt the need to educate people in this sense and help them reconnect with the power that provides the body the ability to heal itself.

Happy Juneteenth ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿✊🏾✊🏼Today we are celebrating the ending of slavery in the United States and Opal Lee.

At the age of 89, Lee decided her new life mission was much like that of Major General Gordon Granger who rode into Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865, to spread the news of the Emancipation Proclamation outlawing slavery in Confederate states.

"I knew I just had to spread the word about Juneteenth to everybody." The best way to do that, she figured, was to help get Juneteenth accepted as a national holiday.

She decided to start with a walking campaign in cities along a route from her home in Fort Worth, Texas, to Washington, D.C. It wasn't a straight line. Over several weeks, Lee arrived in cities where she'd been invited to speak and walked 2½ miles to symbolize the 2½ years that it took for enslaved people in Texas to learn they were free.

President Biden signed legislation in 2021 to make Juneteenth a federal holiday.

Over summer break our Philosophy assignment is to find instances that resonate with each of the 3️⃣3️⃣ Principles and to write about them. We love how our President, Heidi Tressler AKA Sister Leona 🦁 incorporated some art and science into her philosophy journal. 🩻🤍

Why chiropractic?
The holistic nature of chiropractic is what drew me into to this profession. Seeing a patient beyond their condition and/or pain they’re suffering and helping them locate the source of it by looking to the spine nervous system. I want to help patients become more in tune with their bodies and realise that a functioning nervous system and spine through chiropractic care is key to improving overall health and wellness.

For our last meeting of the quarter, we reflected and celebrated all of Sister Arrow’s accomplishments thus far before she walked across the stage. We love you, are so proud of you, and will miss you dearly. We already know you’re going to make incredible strides as a chiropractor back in your hometown!!
