I am so over boring rooms that are straight out of the cookie cutter box. There is a way to design a kid's room, (media room, game room, etc...) that can be FUN --and-- last longer than the child's latest ever-changing interests.
Case in point- these fun loving Star Wars Rooms. Because, It's hard to be sad when you're sleeping in between light sabers. Or the before and after of this media room....
If you could have your dream game room or media room inspired by a certain theme, what would you choose? I'll start...I would love to design a room with a French circus room, with vintage candy jars and big top pastel stripes. What about you?

If you didn’t know any better and you overheard I was painting my walls 🖤black,🖤 it might sound alarming. You might wonder if I was going through a GOTH phase, or maybe was listening to death METAL HAIR bands with gross names like Morning Afterbirth. I know this might be your reaction, because there have been occasions when I have suggested black walls to clients and I have gotten scared, wide eyes in return. 😳

HOWEVER, using black as a wall color is A LOT less scary than it sounds. Depending on the decor you pair it with, black as a paint color can be dramatic, bright, moody or even preppy.
Take a look at these different rooms I have been involved with over the past years, all the same color, with dramatically different looks. Does this make black seem a little less scary? Would you consider painting a wall black? 👍 or 👎?

I am excited that April is here, but I have questions. Did anyone grow up not wearing white until after Labor Day? Is that still a thing? In my head, it is, but I am not sure if we still go by those rules. Do you wear white before Labor Day?

Do you dress up for Easter? My favorite thing to do is attend church with my family on Easter weekend. One thing I love about my church is it is not very formal. People wear jeans, or shorts, and almost anything in between. While I love an occasion to dress up, I also love an atmosphere that helps everyone feel welcome.
How will you celebrate Easter this weekend?

What does your family do for the meal on Easter? Do you have lunch or brunch? Do you set a dressier table or is it more casual?
I feel like ours is different every year, just depending on what's going on. But my family is more fly by the seat of our pants than planners. I am just happy to be there! How about you?

I just realized tommorrow is “spring forward”, and I already miss that extra hour of sleep. 😴
So in honor of the sleep we never got, I am posting some of my favorite rooms for a Sunday afternoon nap.

For my office powder room, I wanted a heart in the shower cubby. I laid it out one by one for the installers, using a circle from the shower floor to begin and shaping it accordingly. I love the way it turned out.
