Sure ways to spot a scammer Scammers say and do things that can tell us they’re lying — and they’re not who they pretend to be. Of course, to hear or see those clues, we have to get past the panic scammers make us feel, thanks to the so-called emergencies they try to create. And since scammers are convincing, that can be...

Thank you to these wonderful families and kids for joining us on our Shop with a Cop experience yesterday. We had an incredibly fun time and I hope you did too. Have a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year!
The male in the post from this morning has been identified and the post has been removed. Thank you to everyone who is always willing to assist us whenever needed!
Today while Sergeant Draper was attending the UNOA Conference in Mesquite, Nevada, he had the incredible opportunity to ride in a helicopter over the city with the Emery County Sheriff’s Office. Thank you to the National Guard for the experience and to the Emery County Sheriff's Office for keeping him company!
This morning I was pleasantly surprised to see that the basketball hoop had been removed from the dumpster. Thank you to whoever removed the basketball hoop and I hope it is being disposed of appropriately if it is no longer needed or wanted.
Let's take this as a moment to remind everyone that the dumpsters scattered throughout the city are not your personal landfill. You are not authorized to dump your furniture, mattresses, or even your basketball hoop in them (or partially in them).
Have a great rest of your holiday weekend!
Today we had someone make a poor attempt at using a dumpster at the Helper City cemetery. There is a sign posted directly next to this dumpster that forbids public dumping.
If this was you, please remove the basketball hoop as soon as possible and dispose of it properly and you will not face any criminal repercussions.
If you know who left their basketball hoop mostly on the ground, please call Price Dispatch at 435-637-0890.
We would like to request the Helper City communities assistance with reviewing any of their video footage from Friday, April 28th going into Saturday, April 29th. Two males were observed on video footage in the area of a vehicle theft around Midnight. The vehicle was driven up Indian Canyon, crashed, and abandoned. The males were wearing shorts and hoodies.
If you have anything similar to the above-mentioned on your video footage, please contact Price Dispatch at 435-637-0890 and reference case number 223094. You could also forward any video footage to Officer Lara Olson at [email protected].
Thank you for your time and assistance.

We would like to address changing behaviors and safety issues we are seeing with our children and their online activities.
With the advent of platforms like Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Discord, Roblox, Telegram, and many more, access to children is easier than ever.
One disturbing trend is the age of the offender, children’s peers are quickly becoming the more common perpetrator for sexual assault, sexual exploitation, and especially sextortion.
Children are being exposed to sexually graphic material at an increasingly young age. Material they are not mature enough to appropriately process which can have long term effects on their present and future relationships.
If you have a tween or older at home, I suggest reading the entire article. We plan to offer in person training and the opportunity for the public to learn more and ask questions in the near future.
We will be escorting these wonderful ladies back into town after their successes today at their cheer competition. If you are interested in congratulating them, we will be doing the following route at approximately 7:15 P.M.

South on Bryner Street
East on Canyon Street
North on Uintah Street to the Middle School
There will be lights and sirens for a short period of time. There is no need to worry. Pop out onto the street and clap and cheer them on!
We would just like to take a moment to thank all agencies who assisted in this matter and helped safely resolve the situation. Good work Emery County Sheriff's Office for a successful spike deployment.

Thank you to these wonderful families for spending their Saturday morning with us. We had an absolute blast doing the Shop with a Cop event this year and we hope you did as well.
We would like to thank Sergeant Maynes with the Price City Police Department for his hard work and dedication to make this event possible every year.
Thank you to everyone who donated their hard earned money to make this event possible.
We hope these families and everyone else have a Merry Christmas!
We would like to take a moment and show support for a dispatcher who has always shown support to us. We could not do our jobs without our dispatchers. If you have a moment to come out and support Lillian in this trying time, please do so. Also, if you haven't had Ruben's BBQ, this is your time to give his amazing food a try.
Thank you, Lillian, for all that you do and we wish you the best in the healing stages moving forward.
The seasons are changing and it appears we will be receiving snow within the next month or so. In the meantime, I would like to address some common issues we run into when it snows. As a Helper City resident, you have some responsibilities when it comes to dealing with the snow.
According to Helper City Ordinance 10.10.120, it reads; To facilitate the efficient and safe removal of snow from city streets, it shall be unlawful for any person to park or leave standing on any public road or street, any licensed or unlicensed automobile, camper, trailer, cycle, recreational vehicle, boat, mobile home, or other motor vehicle from October 1st to March 1st of each year when there is an accumulation of snow in excess of two inches or when city snow removal units are on city streets.
This has commonly been a problem every year and it has created an extremely difficult time for our Helper City Public Works Department to do their job effectively and efficiently.
According to Helper City Ordinance 12.05.130, it reads; It shall be the duty of the owner or tenant of any premises abutting or adjoining any public sidewalk to remove or cause to be removed all snow and/or ice from the sidewalk abutting such premises.
We need to remember there are still individuals and workers who utilize our sidewalks whether there is or isn’t snow on the ground. With the holiday season comes the packages and mail being delivered to residences. We need to remember our delivery personnel and give them the opportunity to do their job safely and avoid injury from slipping on the ice.
Thank you for your time and have a safe and happy snow season!
Last year on September 11th we gathered with many of you, our community, and climbed stairs or walked a 5K in honor of those Heroes lost on that fateful day in 2001.
This year we want to do more and we would once again love it if you all would join us!
In the past year two of our own, our Local Heroes, were diagnosed with cancer. We want to give to them in addition to honoring the Fallen Heroes from 9-11-2001.
Once again we will have the option to climb 2,071 stairs or walk a 5K. We are doing a registration for our event this year and ALL proceeds will be divided and donated to the two Local Heroes!
So please, join us in Remembering the Fallen to Support the Present!
..watch for more to come!
Below is a link to the registration site, or you can scan the QR code. Once there Select "Special Events/Runs" then "Remembering 9/11 5K".
