In addition to celebrating our new space, we invite you to bid farewell to our remarkable Executive Director, Elise de Castillo, as she begins the exciting new journey of becoming a diplomat for the United States. CARECEN y la Federación Hispana (Hispanic Federation) organizarán una clínica de inmigración gratuita el martes 20 de agosto para los residentes de Long Island que son elegibles para la acción afirmativa para ciertos cónyuges de ciudadanos estadounidenses, conocida en inglés como “Parole in Place.”

CARECEN and Hispanic Federation are hosting a free immigration clinic on Tuesday, August 20, for Long Island residents who are eligible for Parole in Place for Certain Spouses of U.S. Citizens.

The appointments will be in-person at CARECEN’s Brentwood and Hempstead offices and CARECEN will provide free legal service assistance through August 20.

Back in May, our Executive Director, Brett Stark, Esq., participated in Immigrant ARC's Spring Conference. Brett spoke as part of a panel discussion entitled “Holistic Advocacy – Incorporating Social Work and Case Management into Nonprofit Immigration Legal Practice.”

The conference discussed the legal challenges and developments faced by people and organizations serving immigrant communities, and brainstormed solutions on how we can cultivate and deepen action and community within the New York legal field. Terra Firma National extends our thanks to Immigrant ARC for organizing this event.
