CARECEN y la Federación Hispana (Hispanic Federation) organizarán una clínica de inmigración gratuita el martes 20 de agosto para los residentes de Long Island que son elegibles para la acción afirmativa para ciertos cónyuges de ciudadanos estadounidenses, conocida en inglés como “Parole in Place.”

Las citas serán en persona en las oficinas de CARECEN en Brentwood y Hempstead. Tenga en cuenta que CARECEN brindará asistencia legal gratuita para este trámite hasta el 20 de agosto.

CARECEN and Hispanic Federation are hosting a free immigration clinic on Tuesday, August 20, for Long Island residents who are eligible for Parole in Place for Certain Spouses of U.S. Citizens.

The appointments will be in-person at CARECEN’s Brentwood and Hempstead offices and CARECEN will provide free legal service assistance through August 20.

If you would like to make an appointment, please contact us at (516) 489-8330 and (631) 273-8721 and let the receptionist know that you would like to apply for Parole in Place.

Our Social Work team is thrilled to announce that Kids Achieve, Inc. has awarded two scholarships to cover college expenses next fall for two outstanding students from CARECEN's Jóvenes al Mando therapeutic support group in Hempstead!

Back in May, our Executive Director, Brett Stark, Esq., participated in Immigrant ARC's Spring Conference. Brett spoke as part of a panel discussion entitled “Holistic Advocacy – Incorporating Social Work and Case Management into Nonprofit Immigration Legal Practice.”

The conference discussed the legal challenges and developments faced by people and organizations serving immigrant communities, and brainstormed solutions on how we can cultivate and deepen action and community within the New York legal field. Terra Firma National extends our thanks to Immigrant ARC for organizing this event.

Earlier this week, our Social Work team held CARECEN's first self care day for Entre Mujeres support group members 🥳

There, CARECEN, and our friends at the Long Beach Latino Civic Association, will provide an overview (in English and Spanish) of asylum, refugee status, and employment authorization. Workshop participants will also have a chance to sign up for a legal clinic to help file asylum applications. You won't want to miss it!
