Every February, our nation comes together on the first Friday to raise awareness around Heart Health. While cardiovascular disease is all too prevalent among Americans, it is important to note the statistics among women: According to the American Heart Association, cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year. Fortunately, 80 percent of cardiac events may be prevented with education and lifestyle changes—which is why we are seeking to raise awareness on National Wear Red Day on Friday, February 4th.
