Anyone else’s vehicles always look like this, or just me 🤦🏼♀️ My kids always want to bring a different toy in the car, but can never bring it in because it’s “too heavy” 🤪
Also, my mom hack is that I always leave one of the seats folded down in my van so I have an easy place for diaper changes, and for all the kids to easily hop in the back, then I can get in too with plenty of room to buckle them in their seats 😊

I’m going to tell you a little story.
Back in April I took my 4 year old shopping with me. We had the goal of getting some summer clothes for her younger brother since he had about outgrown everything he had. While shopping at a secondhand store, my daughter found a hat. It was not just any hat though, it was THE hat. She had to have it.
I don’t know about your kids, but I’ve bought hats for them in the past, and they get worn once or twice, then never again. So at first I said no, but then with more begging from her I looked at the price tag. It was $1.50. I caved and said “Why not? At least if she only wears it a couple of times I didn’t spend very much on it.”
The hat came home with us. I told her I needed to wash it before she wore it. As soon as it came out of the dryer, it was on her head. That was in April. She is still wearing the hat as I type this. Unless she was swimming or had just woken up, I don’t think I have a photo of her in my phone from the last 4 months without her wearing the hat.
A little about the hat: It is blue, which is sometimes her favorite color. It has been washed very few times these last 4 months because I can’t get it off her head long enough. I’m pretty sure there is mustard on it right now. It says “Mermaid hair don’t care”, but according to her it says “Sharks”.
This hat has become part of her identity. It brings her so much joy and comfort, it is like a security blanket for her. Is there an item your child has clung to like this? Tell me about it in the comments!!

We check everything for safety before we buy it. What does this mean exactly? First, we make sure the item is as it should be, meaning no missing screws, broken pieces, battery corrosion, etc.
Next we check for retrofits. Retrofits are anything added to a product that it did not have when it was manufactured. For example, painting a doll house or using different screws for a crib other than the ones from the manufacturer would be retrofits that we do not accept.
Then we check for recalls with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (https://www.cpsc.gov). Anything that has been recalled legally cannot be sold. Our team will take all of these steps with every single buy to ensure that you can buy with confidence at Once Upon A Child!
Value? We've got it. Variety? That too. Very good vibes… You know it!
Once Upon A Child has value, variety, very good vibes, sustainable practices, and cash on the spot. Shop for what you need, sell us what you don't. We've got it all coming soon at Once Upon A Child!
Cleaned out my girl’s drawers this weekend! So much that was outgrown or that they never even wore because it got lost at the bottom of the drawer 😳
How often do you go through your kid’s clothes? And when you do, do they see what you’re getting rid of and decide the shirt that they refused to wear multiple times is suddenly their favorite one and has to stay, or is that just in my house 🤪

Only about 2.5 weeks left of summer break for CCSD! Who is ready for their kids to go back, and who wishes summer lasted just a little bit longer 🌞 My answer changes each day 🙃
Hi Everyone! I figured it was time I formally introduced myself!
My name is Sara. I've been married to my husband for 16 years, and we have three great kids together! Our kids are 9, 4, and 2. We moved to Henderson from North Carolina exactly 2 years ago, and we are loving the desert life! If you have ever been to the east coast, you know that dry heat > humidity 🫠
I love to thrift and find unique items, especially clothes for our kiddos. Because let's be real, kids grow fast and their taste can change overnight! For example, my 4 year old decided she'll only wear blue shirts now...of course this was after I bought her clothes for the summer 🤦♀️
When we moved here from the NC, one of the first things I did was look to see which of my favorite stores were in the area. I was shocked when I realized there was no Once Upon A Child! My youngest was 9 weeks old at the time, and he was growing way faster than my daughters did, so the outgrown clothes were piling up before they were worn, and we were constantly needing to buy whole wardrobes in bigger sizes.
I tried for months to figure out the best way to get rid of his old clothes, while also getting affordable clothes for all my kids, and there just wasn't one solid option. After a failed marketplace sale, I was telling my husband how frustrated I was that we just didn't have a Once Upon A Child anywhere near us, because it would solve our clothing issues. He then said "Why don't you just open one!" And that was it!
We have been working hard to bring this small business to you for over a year now. Everything is in the final stages now for us to begin construction soon! I'm so excited to share this amazing store with you!
Please introduce yourself here and let me know what you look forward to most about having a Once Upon A Child nearby!
