Happy Woodworker Wednesday! Our guys did a phenomenal job on this custom project for Benton Roofing. We built/installed a custom accent wall to showcase their current plus future employees with pictures and awards. Along with Benton Roofing logo on 4 x 8 oak and reclaimed framed sign, created on our CNC then finished with love from our shop guys. Now hanging in their lobby. Go check it out when they open! It is amazing that these ideas were drawn on paper, then brought to life. If you can dream it, we can build it!

Meet our newest Artisan L.A. at L.A. Armstrong Photography!

L.A. moved to the WNC in 1998 to studied graphics design. Then decided to branched off into her true passion in photography. For starters, while in college, L.A. was doing most of her camera footage in Tuxedo, NC. Became a established member in the Hendersonville Camera Club. She ventured out into our beautiful Mountains to capture the essence of what our areas has to offer. L.A.’s work has published in a Artisan Guild Gallery with greeting cards in multiple book stores. Still to this day, she carries her Camera by her side as she travels.

Meet Jon Kwak, our newest Artisan

Jon is a conceptual mixed media artist. He earned a highest grade at L’accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze in Italy from 1998-1999. Jon was the recipient on an honorable mention award in “Taste of Arts”, a national art program competition in San Diego, California in 2003. He was awarded a grant from Artist Fellowship, Inc. in New York in 2011. Mr. Kwak has worked with international known artists like Andy Goldsworthy, Conchita Amata, James Hubbell, and Susan Felix. He has taught art to children in grades K-12 in California, Vermont, and North Carolina. Jon has shown his work in Italy, California, and North Carolina. Mr. Kwak has resided in North Carolina since 2018.

Meet Mike, our newest Artisan

Mike is a 4th generation woodworker who had an opportunity to work in the shop with both his dad and granddaddy. Mike was intrigued with woodturning after learning about his dad’s friend, Lissi’s work back in 1993. He then found a local Ad to buy a lathe, tools and a workbench for only $150 to get him started. Today, you may have seen his work at the top of the line galleries and large festivals all because his family and friends encouraged him and believe in his work. If you don’t see him out and about, then he is in his shop turning.
