So yes we had this octagon pollinator habitat for years that was sitting out front, been meaning to reuse it somehow verses to what we build now….it was a former module we have done at other parks/gardens in FL. This lovely ECO Advocate stopped by one day and she was such a delight to interact with… she was on a budget for a pollinator habitat for a local elementary school. I, Jessica Gleman, always helped others by working within their budgets to come up with solutions. I offered this habitat at a very low cost to flush it out with something very special for the kiddos! We are planning to add fun pollinator habitats into the spaces for the elementary schoolers for them and our pollinators to enjoy! We do great things at our creation station for the home and gardens custom projects, create pollinator habitats to beauty products. I do hear often from our visitors and help guide what they are wanting to achieve. This all happens at our creation station! From woodworks to garden to health. Making solutions for our economy, to health benefits return contributes to our ecosystem on top of educating our society. Spread the word and share us!

When at first glance you think you see a Monarch butterfly, look a little more closely and if you find a horizontal black band across the back of the wing, you’ll have spotted a mimic! The Viceroy butterfly (Limenitis archippus) looks very similar to the Monarch, but is a bit smaller.

Once thought to be a Batesian mimic of the Monarch, the Viceroy was actually found to be a Mullerian mimic of the Monarch. This means they evolved to look similar, and both have a chemical defense making them unpalatable to birds and ensuring their mutual protection from predators.

Viceroys are found in most of the continental U.S., southern Canada, and down into central Mexico. They prefer wet habitats such as ponds, swamps, and rivers so caterpillars can feed on their host plants: willows. Female viceroys lay their eggs on the tips of willow leaves. In adulthood, Viceroys feed on asters, thistles, and milkweeds such as showy milkweed (Asclepias speciosa) and Swamp milkweed (Asclepias incarnata), which produces clusters of pink flowers.

Thank you Dan and Helena for volunteering your time today to help with the flood clean up. We are loving the flowers you brought us from your garden. So beautiful!!! We still have lots left to do in the shop as far as clean up and organizing, replacing products, on top of getting back to where we were before… finally was able to repackaged a hive that was suppose to ship out during the flooding time frame because it was damaged,…had to make new parts to repackage this hive. Our shipping materials were damaged as well. A huge Thanks to the girls next to us bringing their boxes to use meantime. We had to modify our own packaging which is not the prettiest of our standard packages lol it will work! Off to Maryland you go, Beehive!!

“Let’s 🐝 Friends with Joni&Friends” This was our second night as the Special Guest for this year’s Family Retreat “Harvest” Joni and Friends in Flat Rock, NC. We were inside the gym this time in case of the weather being unpredictable. It was an amazing time listening to the DJ play music plus interacting with the crowds and it was a delight seeing everyone dance!! As we talked about the honey bees and the products that we can harvest from our sweet little angels. We did all sensory items that the bees produce such as touch, smell and taste the products. Everyone loved it! 🤗 (Due to the respect of the families and children’s privacy, we are limited to sharing pictures of the event) We can tell you this, Lots of positivity, energetic, happy, wonderful, down to earth people, kids and organization members! We are very honored to part of this. This is a great organization to bee involved with. We will 🐝 back! ☺️🐝❤️
