Love in the time of Helene: First responders exchange vows amidst chaos One first-responder couple honored their love for each other with a commitment ceremony on Oct. 2 after Helene robbed them of their initial wedding plans.

We finally have power and internet back at Mountain Tek. I’m here today trying to work through over a weeks worth of emails and voice mails. We’re looking forward to the NC Mid-Winter Chief’s Conference next week in Concord, NC at the Embassy Suites & Conference Center. The expo is FREE and open to the public. Expo hours are Thursday 2/1/24 from 1pm till 5pm and Friday 2/2/24 from 9am till 3pm.

Petzl requests that you inspect GRILLON products manufactured between October and December 2023, following detection of ropes which were incorrectly installed in the rope adjuster of recently produced GRILLON products. In such a case, the product does not perform its blocking function, which can result in a risk of injury.

Please immediately stop sales and use of GRILLON products manufactured in October, November and December 2023 and follow the inspection procedure described in the link in the comment section.

Today we were able to present Ashford North Cove Fire Department with around $4,000 worth of Petzl equipment. This lightweight equipment will help them respond better equipped to wilderness rescues in their area (including the Linville Gorge).

Rock Exotica has issued a recall notice on all 1.1” Omni Block Pulleys and associated variants manufactured from February 2020 through October 2022.

Rock Exotica is also issuing an inspection notice for all Omni Block style pulleys made from 2018 through October 2022.
