Day 8 part 2. After getting rehitched we spent the rest of the day on the beach soaking in the last few rays of sun. A delicious burger for dinner, packing and getting ready for the long flight home!!! I’m not ready to go home!!! This has been so relaxing and I wouldn’t mind a few more days on the beach.
Happy Daughter’s Day to my sweet daughter in law. She is beautiful inside and out. She keeps Louie grounded, is a great mom to one of my grandsons with another on the way and it is also her birthday today. I love you you are a great addition to our family. 💙💙
Happy Daughter’s Day to my lovely daughter. She is beautiful, hard working and one of the best moms I know. I love you 💗
Day 8 40 years later we still do!!! We got married at the courthouse with no pictures. Promised we would renew one day with pictures. The years passed and we never managed to arrange it. Thanks to Leilani Pewitt we renewed our vows on a beautiful beach in Hawaii at sunrise. I would marry this man 100 times over. He is best husband, father, provider and my best friend. Thank you, Lord for choosing him for me. Thank you Marsha, Jan and Leilani for getting up early with us. Thank you, Jan for the wonderful breakfast literally on the water.
Day 7 The hotel may have been on strike but we went out and had a great day. First stop the Dole Plantation. Check out that Pineapple Split 😳, not ours but the guy in front of us. Took the train ride around the growing fields that are more than pineapples. Next the Polynesian Cultural Center. While visiting the New Zealand area we talked with the guy and Lewis was invited onstage to play a game. It was fun hearing about the island loves and speak with real kiwis. We took a fun canoe ride with a funny guide. (don’t worry kids we were never in charge of steering). We were able to catch some beautiful sites on the way back to the hotel where they are still on strike. I guess they brought in “scabs” because that is the ongoing chant “hey Scabs we know you are in there, come out”. Most everything is open tonight. I feel bad for the workers but we also spent lots of money to get here so I’m glad things are open. 🍍🇳🇿🇵🇫
Day 5 was a relaxing day. We did a little shopping and walking. Saw the tiniest little bird (the leaf is for reference). We wrapped up the day with a Luau and it was fantastic!!! Leilani’s friend here Jan presented us the most beautiful leis. Today was a wonderful day!!! 🌺🌅
Day 4 was another busy day. We stared at the swap meet (flea market, Lewis was expecting all things cars and parts lol). Next we headed to the North Shore for a yummy shrimp lunch and more beautiful sites. Matsumoto shaved ice with ice cream on the bottom thanks for the recommendation. Then a most beautiful sunset at Sunset Beach! Perfect ending to the day. 🦐🍧🌅
Day 3 was a more somber day. We went to the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor. Seeing the wall of the men who died and are still buried on the ship was sobering. Those and so many before and after have given so much yet we go about our daily lives without thoughts of the cost. Thank you to not only the men and women serving but to the families that also sacrifice more than most of us will ever know. 🇺🇸
We also saw the Iolani Palace and Ali’iolani Hale
Day 2 Today was filled with site seeing!! We saw the most beautiful landscapes and the beautiful blue ocean. Learned a lot about the culture and how to say some Hawaiian words (in a southern accent). I found my Brady Bunch sisters. lol Marsha, Jan and me, Cyndi. It was a full day but we want to see as much as we can. 🌋🦐🥥🏄♀️
Day one, beach day!!! We spent most of the day on Waikiki Beach soaking in some sun and people watching. Beautiful moon tonight with a night beach walk and an expecting seal resting on the beach. Such a good day relaxing. ☀️🏖️🌊🦭
