The Brewery Experience
We are an all-inclusive brewery tour company led by a Level 2 Certified Cicerone (sommelier of beer).
Some really fun private tours this week with visits to Carolina Bauernhaus, Liability, Pangea and Tetrad Brewing Co.
A great time today on our weekly Greenville Afternoon Delight Tour. We love seeing our guests start to bond with one another as the day goes along. Many thanks to Phil at Liability, Sam at Carolina Bauernhaus and Randy at Tetrad for the amazing guided tours/tastings today.
From time to time we like to share a particularly flattering, meaningful online review or thank-you text/email. This was sent to us from the company on our Private Greenville Tour on Tuesday:
‘We also enjoyed working with your team and you’ve been amazing. I noted from the start that this would be one heck of a tour and my team came back stating how wonderful it was and how they really felt like the info the owners had to share was great and how much they loved the attention they had on the info shared!! Every single person throughly enjoyed the tour!! Thank you so much.’
We are definitely proud of the amazing team of guides we have, and so appreciative of the time that the brewery owners take out of their busy schedule to share their story with our guests and walk them through the beers that they are tasting. Our guests on Tuesday were hosted by owners at all three stops: Kathy at Liability, John and Chad at Tetrad and David at Carolina Bauernhaus. Together, we put together an amazing experience for all of our tours. Check it out for yourself!🍻
We had a great day Tuesday on our Private Greenville Tour with a group of 30+ who chose us as their off-site activity during their National conference at the Hilton Greenville … and they even took along a life-size cutout of Joe - the regional President - who couldn’t make the trip. Many thanks to Liability Brewing Co., Tetrad Brewing Co. and Carolina Bauernhaus Greenville for the amazing hospitality (and beers).
Wow, what a day on Saturday. In addition to our weekly Greenville Afternoon Delight Tour, we had two overlapping groups on our Private Hendersonville Tour including a bachelor party and a double birthday celebration! And what a lineup: our trusted Henderson County favorites Blue Ghost and Burning Blush, plus our maiden voyage to Appalachian Mountain Brewery. This included meet & greets with management at AMB and co-founder Zach at Blue Ghost, and an exclusive brewhouse tour with brewmaster Whit at Burning Blush. Many thanks to each brewery for the amazing hospitality on what was a busy holiday weekend. 🍻
Happy 50th from Tetrad Brewing Co. We love when our tour is a surprise birthday gift from wife to husband, or vice-versa! A wonderful Saturday afternoon in Greenville.
We drink wine, too. 🍷
Very tasty LuLu White from Parker Binns in Mill Spring, North Carolina. Beautiful place, amazing staff and great atmosphere.
The Brewery Experience royalty! In town for their annual, weeklong Summer Guest Period at Kanuga Conference Center, this wonderful group of friends from Spartanburg to Charleston to Boston recently took their seventh Private Hendersonville Tour with us. Starting with a visit here to Blue Ghost Brewing in Fletcher with owners Zach and Nicole - who have hosted this group all seven years - they then enjoyed a third consecutive tour with co-owner/head brewer Whit at Burning Blush Brewery in Mills River and then finished with our maiden stop at beautiful Trailside Brewing in Hendersonville.
Today we enjoyed our first Two Hearted Ale in quite some time, at our favorite spot in the Blue Ridge Mountains. For many, this was the first IPA that they fell in love with. A classic. 🍻
It was so good to be back at Thomas Creek - Greenville’s OG brewery, and the first stop on our very first tour back in 2016. The guests on our Private Greenville Tour on Monday are longtime Thomas Creek fans who requested a visit there as one of the stops to show their support, following guided tastings with co-owner Kathy at Liability and brewmaster Kenny at Double Stamp.
It’s great to see TC back up and running, and we got to experience the company’s past, present and future visiting with co-founder Bill ‘Tastemaster’ Davis and new management including sales director DeAndre. Cheers to the next chapter of a Greenville original. 🍻
Sunflowers indeed will grow … even out of a beer can. We couldn’t resist this photo with one of our favorite beers enjoyed in our favorite spot in the NC Mountains, during sunflower season no less.
This is Liability Brewing’s take as one beer professional in the Ukraine ignited discussion last year on developing a national beer style for the country (think Irish stout or Czech pils). Created by brewer Jeremy - he even designed the beautiful label, too - this Liability seasonal has a subtle honey-like sweetness balanced by the spicy coriander, and a warming 7.2 percent ABV. It is not cloyingly sweet at all, but rather super smooth and easy drinking considering the strength. It has been one of the most popular beers ever served on our tours throughout the years. Come take a tour with us and hear all about the interesting background on this beer, and the style, though we can’t promise views like this.🌻
We had a unique series of Greenville tours this past week with some very fun and diverse groups: A mom and her two sons from Chattanooga & Charleston during their meet-in-the-middle weekend in Greenville; a group activity for the Greenville chapter of the University of Georgia Alumni Association; and a Tuesday afternoon outing for a group of business partners from Michigan and Taiwan(!!!) who were in town to meet with a potential customer in the Upstate. More reminders that beer brings us all together.🍻
We are stoked and proud to be named a 2023 Travelers Choice Award winner by TripAdvisor - chosen now for a sixth time (formerly called Certificate of Excellence). A huge thanks to our customers for taking the time to write about their experience with us, as well as the breweries we visit who make our tours so awesome.
Business for us - and brewery tours overall - has slowed dramatically the past year, but we are no less committed to continuing to give our guests a memorable and unique experience on each and every one of our tours. Cheers.🍻
We love the stories behind our guests and how they wound up on a tour with us. This young man - who is currently in Greenville working as a traveling electrical engineer - recently celebrated his 23rd birthday and so his mom and grandfather drove cross country last week from Albuquerque, New Mexico to visit him, and they signed up for our Private Greenville Tour on Sunday. The son was more interested in learning vs. just drinking for this tour, and co-owner Dustin here at Liability gave the trio his usual fabulous behind-the-scenes guided tour, indulging them with a wealth of information from the craft beer industry to how beer is made.
We had a really fun weekend starting with this corporate team-building outing Friday on our Private Greenville Tour - the third time we’ve hosted this company so I guess we’re doing something right, ha. We gave them three new breweries this time around from the ones we had visited with them previously - Liability, Double Stamp and Carolina Bauernhaus - and all three were a huge hit, with an owner hosting them for the full hour at each stop.
One of the things we love (almost) as much as beer are Blue Ridge Parkway wildflowers, and it doesn’t get more wild than the crazy-looking Turk’s Cap Lily - especially when it’s hanging on the side of a cliff overlooking a lit-up Looking Glass Rock.
We talk a lot on our tours about hazy IPAs - the most popular craft-beer style in the U.S. and routinely the most-entered category in small to mega beer competitions around the country. It’s a great ‘gateway’ style for those who are scared of or new to IPAs, and this is the one that started it all more than a decade ago - the iconic Heady Topper from Vermont, once the No. 1 rated beer in the WORLD for three years in a row. We hadn’t had one in a few years but were able to get our hands on some this week thanks to family, and here it is in its full glory Wednesday at our favorite spot in the Blue Ridge Mountains. While not nearly as hazy as many of today’s newer breed of hazies, we still love the complexity of this beer with its many layers of hop goodness, including a solid punch of bitterness in the finish that throws a bit of West Coast flavor in the mix for the best of both worlds.
We had a really fun corporate team-building tour last week, with co-owners Kathy (Liability Brewing), David (Carolina Bauernhaus) and John (Tetrad Brewing) hosting at each stop with guided tastings and sharing their stories. Give us a call at 828.216.1343 or email [email protected] to arrange your own customized company outing with door-to-door pick-up and drop-off. 🍻
Great first-ever visit to Shoeless Brewing with our bachelor group on Friday! Thanks to Ken for the engaging hour with the guys; they were treated to lots of laughs and info. Fun final stop on the tour.
Hello, beer lovers. After 7 years of hosting brewery tours we are amazed at how many people in Greenville and Hendersonville don’t know who we are, or that there is such an activity right here in town, or that are even familiar with what a brewery tour is, so allow us to re-introduce ourselves and toot our horn a little if we may.
We hosted our first brewery tour in Feb. 2016, and since then have have welcomed several thousand guests on our tours from newlyweds to corporate executives, and have been awarded TripAdvisor’s prestigious Travelers Choice Award - given to the top 10 percent of TA member attractions worldwide - every year except our first and 2020 (Covid). We are one of the most unique beer tour companies in the country, between our team led by a Level 2 Certified Cicerone (beer equivalent of a sommelier for wine) and a professional chef, special beers that we actually give away as parting gifts, and a beer-themed parody movie of Forrest Gump that we play on the van that tells our story in a most creative and hilarious way.
We are the perfect activity for couples dates, birthday celebrations, bachelor/bachelorette parties, family reunions or a team-building activity for companies and conference attendees. We don’t just drive you around from brewery to brewery - you get to meet the owners and hear their stories, sample many different beer styles and learn about craft beer, make new friends, have lots of belly laughs on the van watching our movie, and leave with a special take-home beer. And for private tours we’ll come pick you up right at your home, hotel or Airbnb anywhere in Greenville or Henderson County.
Please help us spread the word to your friends, family, co-workers. Any questions? Call us at 828.216.1343. Cheers! 🍻
What a great St. Paddy’s Day weekend we had in Greenville. On Friday we hosted four ladies celebrating not only St. Patrick’s Day but a reunion of friends who met at grad school at East Carolina University, then on Saturday we had three couples celebrating two of our guests’ birthdays as a gift from their wives. Many thanks to Mom for her always delicious Irish soda bread muffins, and to Double Stamp, Tetrad and Liability breweries for the amazing hospitality. ☘️🍻
Surprise! We had an awesome 45th birthday celebration on Saturday for our guest, Brad, whose wife booked our Private Greenville Tour as the main event for her surprise to Doug, who showed up at the Residence Inn downtown to find a dozen of his friends and family gathered outside to celebrate the day. Many thanks to owners David at Carolina Bauernhaus, John at Tetrad and Dustin at Liability for the exclusive, behind-the-scenes tours/guided tastings for our group. A really amazing day.
Thank you, Greenville SC, for supporting us the past seven years and helping us celebrate our anniversary on Saturday with an amazing day of our back to back weekly public tours - Afternoon Delight and Twilight Tour. We hosted our first brewery tour here on Feb. 20, 2016 with a modest 4-person outing, and have welcomed thousands of couples, friends, family members, bachelors/bachelorettes, companies and conference attendees since then, earning TripAdvisor’s prestigious Travelers Choice Award each of the past six years and creating a lot of special memories along the way. We are grateful for the ever-growing Greenville beer scene, and to all the breweries that have welcomed us over the years with exclusive guided tours and tastings for our guests, including Double Stamp, Liability, Carolina Bauernhaus and Tetrad during Saturday’s anniversary tours.
Visit us at www.thebreweryexperience.com or call us at 828.216.1343 to arrange a customized private tour for your group or to hop on one of our weekly public Saturday tours during your next visit to Greenville. We also host private group tours in the Asheville/Hendersonville area, including stops at Sierra Nevada, Burning Blush and Blue Ghost.
Cheers to 7 years! 🍻
Good morning! brings us back to this magical day in the Blue Ridge Mountains with Feral Garden Gnome Belgian Blonde Ale from Liability Brewing, one of the most acclaimed beers in Greenville and a favorite among our tour guests. We want to know: What is your single favorite Greenville-made beer?
Good morning and happy Friday, Greenville! Did you know that February is National Weddings Month? That’s when many couples start planning their big day, and over the years our brewery tours have made for the perfect bachelor/bachelorette party or a fun group experience for family/friends in town the week of the wedding, as we had two Saturdays ago for a group of 35 who were looking for a group activity the day after the wedding.
Our three-stop Private Greenville Tours are customizable, and include door-to-door pick-up and drop-off at your hotel or rental house anywhere in Greenville County, all your beer sampling throughout the day, exclusive guided tours and tastings with brewery owners and a special take-home gift for all, with a very special gift package for the bride, groom or happy couple. Give us a call at 828.216.1343 or email [email protected] to plan your own customized tour. 🍻
Check out the delicious lineup for our 7th annual Valentine’s Chocolate & Beer Pairing tour this Saturday!! Our friends at Carolina Baernhaus Brewery & Winery and LaRue Fine Chocolate have teamed up to create a very unique pairing that our guests will enjoy as part of our three-stop brewery tour. This is a $25 per person value - which we are not passing along to our guests - so it’s really an amazing deal. Co-owner David with Carolina Bauernhaus will lead our guests through a guided tasting of the following pairings:
*Kurtz all dark chocolate paired with Little Bear blackberry Merlot wine.
*Bananas for You banana caramel in white chocolate paired with Fuzz Balls, a hard apple cider made with wildflower honey and South Carolina grown kiwis.
*Sweet Kentucky bourbon caramel with sea salt in dark chocolate paired with Nacht imperial stout.
*Scheherazade orange and cardamom milk chocolate in pistachio dust paired with Screw Yuzu, a Belgian golden strong ale made with South Carolina grown yuzu, a Japanese citrus fruit.

The other two stops on the tour will be Liability Brewing and Tetrad Brewing … $59 includes all your beer tastings at each of the three breweries plus the chocolate tasting, snacks & bottled water and guided tastings at each stop. Visit www.thebreweryexperience.com, click the Book Now button on the homepage, go to Saturday’s date and select the Greenville Twilight Tour. Grab your honey and come join the fun! 🍻🍫❤️
Greetings, beer lovers! We had a wonderful team-building tour in Greenville on Tuesday night for 25 guests from BASF, who were in town from all across North America visiting their plant in Clemson and enjoying downtown Greenville.
The tour began with pickup at the Westin where they were staying, and continued with a visit to Liability Brewing, where next-door neighbor Moe’s BBQ set up a dinner buffet right in the brewery tasting room so that our guests could enjoy their meal while Liability co-owner Kathy led them through a tour and guided tasting. Next up was Carolina Bauernhaus and an amazing guided tasting with co-owners David and Casey.
Visit us at www.thebreweryexperience.com or call 828.216.1343 to arrange a customized private tour for your company, bachelor/bachelorette or wedding party, or a group of family/friends. Cheers!
After a rough stretch there thanks again to Covid, we capped an amazing February with this super-fun bachelor party tour on Saturday with our Private Greenville Tour. The guys - most with Michigan roots who now live in Washington D.C. - actually chose Greenville because of our emerging beer scene here, and Liability Brewing, Carolina Bauernhaus and The 8th State did not disappoint.
