Mowed for another beautiful weekend! I spend about 2 hours everyday helping to take care of our grass runway, well worth it to keep us all flying safe.

Instrument Checkride complete! Danielle now has all of the Commercial requirements done and just needs a few hours working on Commercial Checkride prep to wrap up her 3 month marathon.

Danielle Bohrnsen knocked it out of the park today with a perfect Private Pilot checkride. An FAA inspector sat through the checkride observing the examiner, which is never fun. The inspector said her performance was one of the best he’s seen. Instrument and Commercial checkrides should be done by the end of March, right on track for 3 months from student to Commercial pilot. Congratulations Danielle!

Danielle returning from another solo cross country, building up her PIC time. We’ve had a busy January, I installed a newly manufactured engine in the Skyhawk, and we still managed to get Danielle up to 112 hours in the first 4 weeks. At our current rate, Danielle will get to 255 hours and a Commercial Certificate with an Instrument Rating in just under 3 months.

Danielle Bohrnsen completed her first solo today at Spartanburg Airport! Danielle is down from Alaska to go all the way through Private, Instrument, and a Commercial in 3 months. She’s off to a great start. Congratulations Danielle!

I’ve been bad about posting lately, it’s been a busy year! Jack Phillips is back in town getting ready for his Commercial checkride. I don’t get to teach commercial maneuvers as often as I’d like, they are a lot fun!

Cameron Castle passed his Private Pilot checkride in Lake Norman today. Congratulations Cam!

Cameron Castle soloed the Cessna on the 26th of March at Johnson Field. Cam did a couple hours of landings for his first flight. Checkride next week! Congratulations Cam!

Jack Phillips returned to knock out a 9 day Instrument Rating and finished up today with a successful checkride in Statesville. Now it’s just a few hours more for the Commercial. Congratulations Jack!

Joshua Weaver passed his Private Pilot today in Statesville after flying his first solo just a few days earlier this week. Congratulations Josh, we’ll done!

Dan Marcoux passed his Private Pilot checkride today in Statesville after a couple weeks of challenging weather here in the southeast. Congratulations Dan!

Matt Marrs passed his Private Private Pilot checkride today after a tough 2 weeks with lots of snow. He worked hard and did an awesome job. Congratulations Matt!

Zach Shellabarger earned his Instrument Rating to day in Statesville NC with examiner John Dennis. Outstanding job! Congratulations Zack!
