For those early birds who watch KABC Channel 7 in the mornings...Ocean Diner will be featured tomorrow, Friday May 3rd, around 6:45 am in the Off The Menu segment. Newscaster Rachel Brown made a stop and sampled some of our dishes and talked to some of our longtime customers.

Thank you to all the many loyal customers, friends and even strangers that have donated to the GoFundMe Page for Ocean Diner and my staff. Anthony Morrison, from The Londoner Salon in Hermosa, started the fundraiser in December and has raised over $20,000 so far. All the money raised is going to the employees directly, not to me or the business. The generous outpouring of support for my employees is truly amazing and heartfelt. Thank you again and we look forward to seeing everyone when we reopen.

Since it is the holidays, I'd like to relay a story of a true Angel who visited me right here in Hermosa Beach.
Business owner Anthony Morrison and his staff at The Londoner Salon on Aviation Blvd, wanted to help the Diner out after seeing we had to close due to the many Covid Restrictions that were put in place for restaurants. He wanted to start a GoFundMe Page -Save Ocean Diner. Since March, I have let people go, rehired them for awhile , only to have to let them all go once again right before Thanksgiving. I decided that any and all money that was raised would go directly to the employees who were affected by the Diner's closing. Nothing would go to me or to my bills or to the business. Over $17,000 has already been raised in only 10 days.

My employees have become a part of my family and the money raised for them will help them and their families survive until we can hopefully reopen soon

Thank you to the over 250 friends and customers who have given my employees such a wonderful outpouring of support.
And thank you to an angel named Anthony Morrison for starting it!

As my last posted stated, we are temporarily closing our doors due to the latest County Health Department Rules, which now suspends ALL dining, both inside and outdoor. As like most sit down restaurants, To Go Food is only a small portion of our business and relying solely on that To Go order can't pay all the expenses. We are so sorry for both our longtime employees and longtime customers.
Let us all hope this is over as soon as possible and we can once again pour you a steaming cup of Joe and a meal Grandma would be happy to serve!
In the meantime, Java Man Coffeehouse is still open for lots of delicious baked goods, breakfast burritos and all your daily caffeine needs!

It is a sad day for me to announce that Ocean Diner will be closing this Wednesday until further notice. Thank you to our wonderful customers and especially all my incredible employees that I've had the luck of knowing these last 35 years.
