It's FIVE DOLLAR FRIDAY!
It took us a long time to gain the trust of many of ITCOW 's permanent residents. Most came to us not trusting new faces and they were uncertain about their future. It takes lots of patience to build up trust, but just look at what love can do. We are a no buy, no breed, no sell, no trade sanctuary. All donations go to the care of the animals.
Every animal here has our full commitment to care for them for the remainder of their lives. Your donations help make our promises to them a little less burdening. If you can help with a donation, regardless of size , we would be grateful. Our donation links are below.

It's FIVE DOLLAR FRIDAY! ...and it's a scorcher! 🌞🥵🏜️ ITCOW critters are doing their best to keep cool with the misters on and water play. We'd love to get a couple more pools for the "less destructive" critters. We plan on making "meat popsicles" for our carnivores and "fruit popsicles" for our omnivores later on for a tasty cool down treat. Help us out with a donation if you can and help us keep these critters cool! Our donation links are below. It's FIVE DOLLAR FRIDAY! It's Friday already? We had to think twice!! That's why we are so late with our posting! It's been a rough week with the passing of Romeo. Riley has just started eating again as of last night. He was mourning the loss of his long time friend. As if that wasn't enough, the other day around midnight we heard a kitten screaming really loud! I go to investigate and the cries took me across the street. There was a little calico kitten hanging on the screen door of the house there. Just as I was picking it up the door opened and the lady looked at me very strange .....mind you its midnight! 😳 I explain that I heard the kitten from across the street. She says it's not theirs so I bring it home. Sadly the next day we heard more cries and we see two other kittens. They were laying next to their dead momma that must have gotten hit by a car. She was by the side of the road. All three kittens were dehydrated, dirty, goopy eyed and starving. After some hydration and eye medication we are glad to say that all three are doing better now and taking the bottle well. Even the runt. She is soooo tiny. They are about three weeks old we are guessing. ( A few pictures are in the comments from when we first found them. They are actually smaller than how the picture presents them. More pictures to come.) So one life leaves us and three show up. We don't question the irony of it all anymore. We just accept that there was a plan that apparently we were intended to be a part of and accept it. We gave the momma cat a funeral and promised her we'd look out after her babies she left behind. It's the least we could do. When you have so many others in your care even though you are sad, you just have to keep going because there are others depending on you. We wanted to end our post on a happier tone so we chose a bear video. Who doesn't love bears right? Woody sends kisses to anyone in our village that donates to our FIVE DOLLAR FRIDAY because he knows it helps
IT'S FIVE DOLLAR FRIDAY You know spring has sprung when you start seeing the bears out more enjoying the day instead of wanting to be tucked away all cozy in their den box. Pine boughs are one of their favorite "nature toys". This is the first time this year they have shown interest. Later today we will be making the rounds picking up meat and produce and all the other supplies. If you would like to help lessen the financial load, our donation links are below. Bears! Sheesh! Second video of the "photo bomber" shown in the comments. We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and thank you all for helping support ITCOW.
It's FIVE DOLLAR FRIDAY! What seems like fighting, is actually affectionate bear play. Bears are big creatures and their play is big too! Don't worry, Sammy loves Woody and Woody loves Sammy! These two are here to let you know that they are just two beautiful souls that were in desperate need of placement and running out of time, but found their forever home with ITCOW. We couldn't be more thrilled than to offer Sammy and Woody a second chance at life. They are the best of friends. Many more found refuge at ITCOW too! Your donations help make things like this possible. We so appreciate your ongoing support. For sanctuaries, it's not just the initial part of taking them in, it's being committed to their ongoing care for life. That's why our weekly $5.00 Fridays are so important. We thank you for your consideration supporting ITCOW and being such a big part of their journey. Our donation links are below. PayPal: PayPal.me/inthecompanyofwolves Venmo: https://venmo.com/code?user_id=3664624683583322349 It's supposed to be a wet weekend, so bundle up and stay dry! Have a great weekend! Side note edit: This video was not taken today. No one wanted to come out for pictures this morning! We guess their cozy den boxes won out over photo opts!
Today is our last FIVE DOLLAR FRIDAY of the year! It's the last few days for donations to count for the 2023 tax year. We'd love for this new year to start off in the black instead of the red. It seems we've been running on fumes all year.... yet, by the grave of God, we're still here! We appreciate each and everyone of you for your support that has gotten us through. Last week we rescued Aubin ( now known as Smoky). We did not know at the time that he would have medical needs so soon. He has an appointment today at 10:30. He is in good spirits, eating and drinking, but quite congested with a very snotty nose. His eyes have been clear the whole time. We have already started him on antibiotics. 10:30 can't come fast enough to get a diagnosis on his respiratory infection and find out about the lumps on his leg and neck. Needless to say, this will be an unfortunate but necessary financial setback. Hardly anyone paid their posted pledges for his rescue that could have gone to his medical.( They were not from our page, but why do they do that??? :/ ) Thank you to the very few that did honor them. We can certainly use the help so we don't start the new year too much in debt with veterinary bills that were unexpected. Regardless of the outcome of the visit, we are dedicated to doing all we can to ensure Smoky has all he needs to fight this infection off and we'll have to see what they say about the tumors. Praying they are not cancerous. We're going to do all we can for this sweet old boy. If you can help, our donation links are below! Paypal: PayPal.me/inthecompanyofwolves Venmo: https://venmo.com/code?user_id=3664624683583322349 We have been running behind all week and will get out our last week's thanks you later this weekend. Please forgive us. It's been a bit crazy the last week .(hangs head in shame) We ALWAYS want to acknowledge each and everyone of you! We will update about Smoky (Aubin) as soon as we get back from his vet visit. Stay tuned. Once again
IT'S FIVE DOLLAR FRIDAY!!! It's an extra special one too! He came without ribbons, he came without tags. He came without packages, boxes or bags. Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store, maybe Christmas means a little bit more. The best gift under a tree is a rescued dog that just wanted a second chance. Aubin was on the euthanasia list. He is a senior dog that had ZERO adoption interest and ZERO interest from any rescues too. Aubin needed an 11th hour Hail Mary miracle. Alone in his kennel he prayed for a Christmas miracle. Well guess what Aubin! Christmas miracles DO come true! But wait, there's more! There was an owner turn in cat that had been at the shelter for a very long time. We sprung her too! Merry Christmas Delilah! ( Pictures of her later) Aubin has a pretty good size lump near his neck and one in his leg that needs to be checked out. He will definitely need some vetting. If you can help us out caring for these 2 souls that SOOOO deserved a second chance, our donation links are below. PayPal: PayPal.me/inthecompanyofwolves Venmo: https://venmo.com/code?user_id=3664624683583322349 Here is Aubin's freedom walk! Thank you so much for your support. It's folks like you that help us make things like this possible.
