ICGH'S Mobile Outreach Bus, Networking with Traphill Public Library was able to share experience strength, and hope with/ NWNC Children's Centers and a group of teenagers who volunteer their time to assist Ms Debbie Beckel with certain duties and chores that with their efforts helpkeep the "Ole Public Library" in Traphill clean, orderly, ready to continue serving the North Wilkes community. Mr Wayne shared some of his life challenges growing up in the Traphill/Thurmond community as well as focusing on the solutions found in the local community supports and the fundamental application of them. Also, we shared some aspects of SUD awareness, educational literature, the importance of Narcan, and proper usage and how they can empower others to seek assistance. ICGH plans to continue working with the youth in rural areas of NW NC through the opportunity of working with TPL, NWNCCC, and WRR.

Position Overview:
As a School-Based Counselor, you will work directly within the Carteret County school district to provide high-quality mental health services to students. Your role will involve individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and collaboration with school staff and parents to create a supportive learning environment. You will be an integral part of our mission to ensure that students have the emotional and behavioral support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing mental health and behavioral issues.
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Collaborate with school staff, including teachers and administrators, to support student well-being.
- Offer crisis intervention services as needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all counseling sessions.
- Provide referrals to external services and resources when necessary.
- Participate in school meetings and contribute to developing strategies for student success.
- Educate and support parents and guardians on managing and understanding their child’s mental health needs.

Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent in the state of North Carolina.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a school or similar setting.
- Strong understanding of developmental, emotional, and behavioral issues affecting school-aged children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical practice.

2. Treatment Modalities: A range of interventions, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and medication management for psychiatric conditions such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

3. Service Delivery: Accessible through telehealth and in-person modalities, with Mobile Medical Services extending care to underserved communities across North Carolina.

4. Insurance and Funding: Acceptance of major insurance policies, including Medicaid and Medicare. Free medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and counseling are available for uninsured clients through various funding sources.

5. Recovery Housing Programs: Day One Recovery Homes provide housing stability, peer support, treatment services, and life skills training for individuals seeking recovery.

6. Peer Support Services: Available to all individuals grappling with substance use issues, including transportation assistance and referrals to necessary resources.

7. Professional Training and Education: Comprehensive training programs for healthcare professionals, governmental agencies, and the community, covering Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP), Community Health Worker certification, and best practices in medication management.

8. Inpatient Services at Behavioral Health Hospital, Sea Level NC: Carolina Wellness Centers offer crisis intervention, detoxification, residential treatment for SUDs, and specialized programs for adolescent behavioral health.

9. Outpatient Services: Comprehensive outpatient behavioral health and addiction treatment services, partnered with CORE Care, PLLC, to provide general health and primary care services.

10. Additional Initiatives: Low-barrier MAT services statewide through Bupe.Online and Medication-Assisted 12 Step meetings for additional recovery support.

11. Community Outreach and Navigation: Facilitating access to vital resources and support services for individuals in urban and rural settings, ensuring no one is left behind in their recovery journey.

Our coalition's mission is to connect with and support those who are unhoused and unsheltered, struggling with addiction and mental illness. Through these outreach efforts, we aim to provide hope, assistance, and a path to recovery.
