The Catawba County GOP will support any Republican candidate in advertising and promotion of their events and campaign literature without favor or prejudice.

The candidate must first gain the approval of the Officers of the CC GOP.

The candidate must complete a questionnaire and submit it to the CC GOP Chair.
Once approved each posting must be reviewed by the CC GOP Secretary, Treasurer, and 4th VC prior to posting.

The Questionnaire:

1. How long have you been a registered Republican?
2. What office or position do you seek?
3. Have you been a candidate for public office prior to this opportunity?
4. Are you familiar with the Republican Party Platform?
5. Are you willing to support and promote each plank in the platform?
6. Are there any planks in the platform that you wish to change or modify? If yes, which plank?
7. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, how involved will you remain active in the County, District and State Party activities?

The Catawba County Republican Party will hold our December meeting at 7:00 pm on the 11th at the headquarters- 930 Tate Blvd SE #106 in Hickory!

Our 10th District chair, Linda Petou, will be attending and Rep. Jeffery Elmore, candidate for LT Governor will also speak.

From County Chairman, Bob Meek, on his temporary leave of absence:

NC Senator Dean Proctor has decided to retire. The senator has asked my wife, Nancy Meek, to run for the seat and she has decided to do so. As the Catawba County Chairman, it my responsibility to remain neutral in all contested primaries. Since another individual has also announced running for this seat, I have come to the conclusion that for the good of the party I need to take action. Even if I remained completely neutral, the appearance/perception to some would be that I was giving preferential treatment to my wife. Therefore, effective immediately, I am taking a temporary leave of absence from the chairmanship until after the primary. Our very capable First Vice Chair Bill Shillito will act as county chairman during this leave of absence and will handle all party responsibilities as chairman. I believe this is the best course of action for the party and look forward to a clean and harmonious primary. If you have any questions, I will be happy to answer them.

Lenoir-Rhyne upsets fourth-ranked Benedict 35-25, advances to quarterfinals The Lenoir-Rhyne Bears (12-1) upset Benedict College (11-1) in the second round of the NCAA Division II Football Championship, earning a spot in the national quarterfinals.

Given the vast lobbying machine Chinese-connected interests run in the U.S. capital, enacting new CFIUS accountability measures will take work. That said, with leaders like Sen. Hawley and Rep. McHenry continuing to bang their pots and pans while investigating the situation, the American people can rest easy if Congress is doing everything it can to reverse the status quo, ensuring the federal government puts people before politics. And for that, we should all be grateful.

Delegates or Alternates,

Per the NCGOP State Plan of Organization, State Chairman Michael Whatley hereby calls the 2023 10th Congressional District Convention. The convention shall be held on November 11, 2023, at 4:00 PM. The convention will be conducted at the Iredell County Government Center, 200 S Center St., Statesville, NC 28677.

The purpose of this convention shall be to elect a Chairman, a Vice-Chairman, a Secretary, a Treasurer, and such other officers as may be deemed necessary. Additionally, the body shall further elect one (1) At Large member of the State Executive Committee, plus one (1) additional At Large member for every 8,000 Republicans, or major fraction thereof, registered within that district, as of January 31 of that year. Lastly, the body shall adopt a District Plan of Organization and carry out other actions the Convention may deem necessary.
