Sunday I begin my 4th Annual Drive Across the Country! I started doing it during COVID and I love it so much I don't want to stop. I'm driving over 3000 miles but in addition to the beautiful landscapes, I am looking forward to visiting 308 Negra Arroyo Lane in ABQ, the Woody Guthrie Museum in Tulsa, catch the Mets vs Cardinals game on Wednesday afternoon before Driving to Nashville for two nights of music and relaxing before the final push back to Long Island by Saturday afternoon.

It may not be for everyone, but it is for me!

So I've been overweight for a lot of years and I've struggled with my mental health as well. In November, I realized I was finally mentally and emotionally ready to get busy living, so I began a healthy weight loss program with my doctor. I'm so happy to say that I'm at a 100 pound weight loss milestone. As you can clearly see, I have much more to go. But it is a celebration to be at this spot today, and more milestones to come!

I'm very grateful to my friends and family for their support and I'm excited to actually participate in the camp this summer!

We're hiring a part-time social media manager for the camp this summer. A few hours on-site taking pictures & video, and a few more hours editing, creating & posting to our accounts. Former campers or knowledge of basketball is a plus, creative talents are as well. Text, email or call for more info. Thank you!

Congratulations to Emma Heaney, junior from Plainview-Old Bethpage HS. is one of the top returning players in New York State and was a Top 40 camper in our inaugural season!

Congratulations to Emma Poland from East Rockaway HS on being named to Newsday’s All Long Island 2nd team! She’s a two-time Top 40 camper.

Privileged to have Karyn & Patrick Looney with us this morning to honor our former camper Kevin Hewitt as our campers competed for scholarships to the 2024 All American Camp. The winners were Evan Lutzer, Tom Lombino, Jordan Scherzer and Connor Lombino. Congratulations to the winners, all of our campers who participated and to the Looney family.

The winner of the 2023 Tom Gorman Attitude Award is Charles Mo. Charles is a camp treasure, a great young man and he’s universally loved and admired and we’re so happy to recognize his stellar attitude and work ethic.

THE TOP 40 CAMP IS IN SESSION FOR EVERYONE TONIGHT!
Our girls session begins at 4:15 and the boys at 6:30. We will have our usual session (warmups/stations/games). I hope to see everybody for our last night!

Big games last night at the LI Top 49 camp by Nate Song (The Wheatley School - 2024) with 17 points and Malachi Cooper (Holy Trinity DHS - 2024) who had 16 points and 3 assists.

Jonathan Davis Jr. (Hempstead HS - 2026) and Dylan McLennon (Sewanhaka HS - 2024) had great games last night at the LI Top 40 Camp. Jonathan scored 20 on 4/5 threes and Dylan had 17 points and 6 blocked shots.

Maya Motherway (2026, East Rockaway HS) was unstoppable! She scored a camp high 32 points on 14/17 shooting (4/6 from three). This 5-8 scoring machine 🔥 the camp up night one. Can’t wait to see what she does tonight!
