A couple weeks ago, Tiffany - our nurse practitioner, took a much needed spring break with the kids!
The thought of taking a break from patients, your job, your life in general can be daunting!
We have to plan, schedule, move things around, and prioritize OURSELVES.
This can be extremely hard for not only us but anyone we know!
But, setting boundaries and giving yourself breaks like small vacations and time with family can really have more benefits to your health than you even realize.

Tiffany walked across the swinging bridge at Grandfather Mtn the other weekend.
She says, âI havenât been able to walk across it the last couple of times I have been there. I am a bit afraid of heights! 𤣠I made up my mind this trip that I was doing this without any excuses! I was not doing it for anyone else, but for myself! To remind myself that I can do things out of my comfort zone to grow and to show myself not to let fear control me!â
While it may not seem like a big deal to most, it was to her. Your goals and someone elseâs goals are not always linear but if they mean a lot to you, then they truly are a BIG DEAL.
Try for the rest of the week to reach a goal for yourself. Donât think of it as big, small, or compare it - just reach it for yourself!

đ Most common lifestyle habit to improve:
⨠Daily Stress Relief
đ A lot of people wait until theyâre feeling stressed to start doing a stress relief activity.
Being more proactive with daily stress relief can do wonders for your health!
Exercise to try:
Try taking 3-5 deep breaths at least 3 times per day.
Deep breathing signals the nervous system to calm down which supports our bodyâs involuntary functions like heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, digestion and general relaxation.
You may need to even set a timer to do this and remind yourself but adding this exercise to your daily life may make a big difference in your everyday life!
