The smallest changes can make the biggest difference in how cohesive the book feels - thread color especially can either pop or blend and I'm often torn on which to do and end up making two similar books to test out both!

The lush and opulent greens of spring 🌿

These busy lines and overlapping shapes have me feeling like I'm traveling in a city.

🌱 How is everyone's spring herb garden coming along? It took a couple years of neglect, but my thyme went from a couple sad sprigs to overwintering as a small bush. If only everything else thrived that much from neglect 🤣

This book is perfect for writing all your plant goals, tasty recipes, or even documenting how many needy plants require replanting because you k!lled them. Accidentally, of course 👀

Mosaics are so beautiful and inspiring! The concept of little broken pieces coming together to form a whole makes my heart warm and full. Even in paper form, like this one, its luminescent colors and dancing shapes marry and become something beautiful.

🐟 Fish scales are beautiful

It's mesmerizing to watch geometric patterns curved over a 3D object and flowing with movement. In this book, I tried to bring some of that geometry into the spine and keep the graceful curves on the cover.

How did the Ocean greet the shore?

It waved 🌊🤣

Many of my first books used found or gifted materials for the covers and I love revisiting that look by old maps to give them new life. The North Carolina coastline is especially beautiful and adds interest to the front covers. See any towns or roads you recognize? 🗺️

Anyone else love looking up at a massive chandelier and imagining swinging from it? While this book doesn't allow for swinging, it is perfect for capturing the imagination!

Boring beetles! 😂😅

This book is a favorite fun creature book and I've made a couple different variations over the years. The semi-symmetrical angled beetles when the book is open wide makes me happy!

Definitely unintentional, but the six stacked hearts makes me think of Hobo Johnson and The Lovemakers.

Love this narrow footprint of a book. 🌇 Reminds me of cityscapes with lots of windows and balconies to watch passerbys.

There's something so cheery about birds perched on a line, chirping away at a dreary day 🐦‍⬛

Angles, angles, and more angles! This is one of the original designed spines using Kairos Stitch - it looks great paired with the decorative partially bound cover and the pointed leaves.

Highlighting the binding from the wedding album posted recently. It is so satisfying when the colors and styles coordinate well. Similar to the gesture of giving a compass as a wedding gift, I hope that this map showing where the couple first met will help remind each of them how to come together and find each other when times are tough and they feel lost.

Note: this is a commission from last year. Commissions for custom books are currently closed and will reopen in Spring 2024.

Miniature chained library perfectly sized for bookshelf display 📖⛓️ it's so fun to plan out and make book shrines - it's a little world for the books to live in and I love watching them come together as a cohesive unit.

Unlike the original chained libraries, these books will detach for ease of use as functionality is an important part of my pieces.
