As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to an end, we want to share some daily questions to ask yourself. Life and our problems can take over our mental health if we don't acknowledgment when we need help, or when we need to slow down. Remember to take time for yourself, whether big or small, mental health wellness matters.
A special thank you to High Point Community Foundation for coming out and speaking with Caring Service's Executive Director, Teresa Hinkle, about our treatment program. Through their support and generousity, CSI has been awarded a grant for a Women's Recovery Retreat at one of North Carolina's beautiful state parks.
We are looking forward to helping the women of our program find fun, serenity, and to celebrate their recovery success at this retreat!
Happy Monday everyone! Let's continue to spread the word about Mental Health Awareness. It's vital that people know where to turn when seeking help.

Caring Services is celebrating our 30th Anniversary!!
We are grateful to our community for their support, and especially grateful for our founder, Rebecca Yates. Through her love, dedication, kindness, and strength in the face of challenges, Caring Services is able to continue to provide a hand of hope to people seeking treatment and long-term sobriety.
Our newly renovated transitional home has been forever named "The Yates House" to honor the legacy Rebecca Yates leaves us with in her retirement.
CSI is having issues with our phone service provider today. Unfortunately we cannot make or receive calls at this time. We ask for patience as we work on solving this problem.
Dear friends of Caring Services,
I have shared this with many of you already but there are undoubtedly some of you that I haven't been able to speak with in the last few months. Effective March 29, I am resigning as the Executive Director of Caring Services. It is hard to put into words what the experience of founding and building Caring Services has meant to my family and me. We started with a single house on Ferndale Boulevard and just dedicated our most recent site, bringing the number of properties owned by the agency to ten.
Caring Services would not be what it is today without all of you- your financial gifts, volunteer hours, support, and friendship have been invaluable. Thank you. I hope that you will continue to show up for Caring Services for many years to come. Our clients and community need you now more than ever.
The Board and I have been actively planning for my departure and I am so grateful that our talented Clinical Director, Teresa Hinkle, is transitioning into the ED role in April. She knows this organization inside and out and I have no doubt she will make Caring Services an even more effective organization in the coming years. We have a great team at Caring Services and with Teresa and our other committed staff members, I feel good starting this next chapter in my life.
I will take some time off to care for family members and likely return to being a Realtor in the future. I will certainly be volunteering with Caring Services and will continue to advocate for our work and our clients in any way that I can.
You can read the formal announcement at caringservices.org if you would like. Thanks again for all your support and love over the years. I am forever grateful.
B. Yates
We have a big change coming in April. Read about it below!
Caring Services Executive Director, Becky Yates, will resign at the end of March after founding and leading the organization for 30 years. In 1994, Becky and her husband Jim Yates, launched what would later become Caring Services as a single home so that men coming out of in-patient substance abuse treatment would have a place free of drugs and alcohol to build their recovery foundation. Over the years, Caring Services has expanded to provide a holistic continuum of care to individuals ready to commit to recovery.
"I am grateful that Caring Services has been able to serve so many in our community along their recovery journey. While I will continue to volunteer with Caring Services, I know that it is time for me to step away as ED and let someone else lead. Building this organization has been one of the most meaningful things I have done and I feel good about where we are headed."
The Board has appointed Teresa Hinkle as the next Executive Director of Caring Services, effective April 1. Hinkle, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist and Certified Clinical Supervisor currently serves as the Clinical Director at Caring Services, Inc. Hinkle is a skilled practitioner who combines strong clinical skills and effective program design abilities to build flexible and creative clinical services that meet the needs of clients.
"Given her tenure at Caring Services, her deep commitment to clients and our community, and her incredible leadership skills, we are confident in Teresa's ability to serve as the next ED," says Sallie Kelton, Caring Services Board Chair.
Today, the agency owns and operates ten transitional houses in the High Point community, which can house 94 individuals. Caring Services is recognized in the community and throughout the state as having an innovative and comprehensive approach to providing services based on best practices. Services include transitional housing (a 6-24 month) program, supported living through recovery apartments, a substance abuse intensive outpatient program (SAIOP), outpatient treatment, case management services, life skills development, Veteran's specific services through the Vet Safety Net, individual and group counseling, DWI services, a food pantry, and a clothing donations closet. In close partnership with community organizations, healthcare providers, and government agencies, Caring Services has served more than 6,000 individuals since its inception.
Hinkle has seen firsthand the impact of Caring Services on many and is ready to transition into the Executive Director role. "Becky and our team have built something meaningful at Caring Services and I am excited to leverage our strengths and look for ways that Caring Services can have even more impact in our local community.”
Yates will likely return to her career as a Realtor after taking a well-deserved break to care for family members. Kelton shares, "I am thankful to Becky for her commitment and countless contributions to Caring Services since its inception. She will certainly be missed in the day-to-day operations of Caring Services, but we know she will continue to be a supporter of the organization she founded and loves."
