My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity. Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Deep River would like to congratulate Bryan and Cameron Marsden on the birth of their 2nd daughter, Iris Cameron. She was born Tuesday, August 27th. Big sister, Evelyn Ann is so excited to have a little sister to hold and love on.
We are all very excited to welcome Iris into our community. Can’t wait to get snuggles from her! May God guide them in the days ahead.

Summer days are coming to an end.

May God guide our teachers, kids and staffs of our schools. May this year be safe and peaceful for all.

Reminder… Monthly Meeting will be held in the Fellowship Hall (rescheduled from Thursday) following morning worship.

UPDATE: Due to the rains and wind of Hurricane Debby… we have canceled
Monthly meeting this evening. It is being rescheduled for this Sunday, August 11 right after meeting for worship.
We encourage those that never have been to a Monthly meeting please consider to stay. You will see and be involved with our meeting’s work and finances. You guys stay safe out there.

Another year another annual Thornton Hot Dog Roast in the books! Fun time , fun night… until next time! We will continue to honor their memory. We miss you, John and Jennie.

Coming to the hot dog roast tonight? Don’t forget your lawn chair, blanket, and … drums? We might just be jamming out.

A huge Thank you to everyone that came out and let our youth wash cars for you.
It was big success!
Washed over 30 cars and lots of money raised. Thanks to everyone’s generosity.
Proud of our kiddos for hanging in there in this hot weather and working hard.
Want to thank the adults that are so dedicated to teaching and helping our Deep River youth. You all ROCK!

It was a great day at Deep River today.
We remembered our loved ones that have passed this past year.
Had great music by our pianist, Mark Kirkman, along with special organist, Catherine Pressley.

Memorial Sunday— June 9, is the date for the annual Deep River Memorial Association service and meeting. A carry-in lunch will be held after the service. Bring a dish to share.
Join us as we honor those that have passed this past year and are buried in our cemetery.

We here at Deep River are very proud of our own Jordan N Glascoe …. This past weekend many medals were awarded in the Special Olympics in Raleigh. Brought home some gold !

Dear Friends

Our friend, Roger Dale Thornton, a member of Deep River Friends, died this past Sunday, May 26th. We offer our expressions of condolence to his family. His service and his burial will be here at Deep River Friends Meeting at 3:00pm on Saturday, June 1st. Visitation will be afterwards in the Fellowship Hall.
