Can you imagine the number of women being referred to all different types of specialties for unnecessary testing because there are not enough primary care doctors who understand menopausal physiology and up to date guidelines? Not to mention only have the time to deal with "one or two complaints at a time"?
Menopausal Hormone therapy is a treatment used to relieve symptoms of menopause. It adds the female hormones that are at a lower level as you experience those fluctuations and decline leading up to menopause. Unpredictably falling levels cause a range of physical, cognitive and emotional symptoms - temperature changes, mood swings, brain fog, bone and muscle pain, energy changes, body composition changes, vaginal dryness. Part about what I love about medicine is the BIG picture view of health. And there is nothing that affects our Whole Health like Mindfulness. Focusing on the present and tuning into our various senses ā without judging how we feel and what we think ā can be both liberating and frustrating (because it aināt easy). Real talk! Some women skate through this transition. For some it causes life-altering changes. Donāt compare your road to someone elseās and think your body āshouldā be behaving differently. Itās tempting, but not fruitful. The more you know, the more you can develop your confidence in navigating this transition. What questions can I answer for you?
Walking is SO undervalued. Have you heard people talking more about it lately? That plus Spring time has made me want to reevaluate my walking time. (And get cute hiking shoes, truth be told.) Thereās nothing like a walk with the kiddos, but also nothing like a walk without them too. Lol. Itās such a great stretch for me to practice mindfulness - breathing in the fresh air, feeling the pavement under my feet, seeing the wide-open sky, telling my brain to stop chatting with me - all subtle ways that ground and nourish the senses. ; )

But at least there were a few breaks to steal the sight of a palm tree. Canāt complain! How are you enjoying your extra bit of daylight??
