Anyone have old license plates laying around they wouldn’t mind parting with? We used to snag some on our trips to SE Ohio…not off of vehicles, that would be bad. Had a favorite antique store that had some. Shoot me a message if you have some!

Dropped off some more Santa signs, these with beautiful walnut frames, for those still decorating out there! Also, I know you’ve got more room on that tree for some ornaments 🙂. In addition to the letters already dropped off, there are now some heart ornaments and some old cross ornaments, all made from an old piano. Stop in and grab some!

We have dropped off a bunch of wood ornaments in different letters, all made from old piano wood. We will be cranking out some hearts and crosses this weekend as well and dropping those off. scored some really unique wood from a new source the other day. saw an ad posted on Nextdoor about piano removal, so I reached out and my guy David with Lug Stars invited me over to help reduce his load to the landfill and spend some time in the rain sorting through the piano remnants, grabbing those interesting sections with stamps and serial numbers. be on the lookout for some fun things being made with this stuff.

excited to use it and also partner with another guy who sees the importance of reusing and repurposing materials rather than just sending them to the landfill.

Some more of these chunky letters fresh out of the garage, making their way to Jacksonville, FL. These guys are roughly 6” tall and end up around 1 1/2 - 2” thick. All made from reclaimed wood we have collected over the years, from old homes to barns to old fences to Lord knows what else, it is some cool wood and has a history behind it. If you’re interested in one let us know. We are looking to get a bunch of them over to MAK Home Furnishings beginning of the new year, so keep an eye out for that.

Coming soon to MAK…like, maybe Friday or Saturday…this reclaimed wood Ohio piece. The Ohio is made from various pieces of old barnwood, while the backer is made from lath that was salvaged from a home built in 1900 that was demolished in the Franklinton area of town. Frame is made from random reclaimed wood we’ve picked up along the way, and the wood that the lath is glued and nailed to was once a shelf in the office/library of a million dollar home along the Scioto River just off of Dublin Rd. So, every single piece of this one has had a former life, be it a farm or an old house that was home to families for a century, or an upscale luxury home along the river. Truly one of a kind.

MAK Home Furnishings is back open Thursday at 11am! We have a number of pieces in the store ready for you to grab. If you’ve got a gift giving occasion coming up soon, this is the place in Hilliard to go! So many incredibly talented artists featured, and all from the good old buckeye state ⭕️-HI-⭕️

We’ve done so many of these Ohio Guys signs over the years, but they are a favorite. Gonna have to mix it up and make some variations going forward.

Had the opportunity to make a very special piece for a friend’s daughter and son-in-law who had a destination wedding at Pray Lake in Glacier National Park in Montana. This guy was a lot of fun to make, to try new things. Every bit of this piece was made from reclaimed wood that would have ended up in the landfill. Here’s the run down…

Back piece - Old headboard from the Atkins Barbershop in Old Hillird that is now Whit’s. That building was originally built in 1932.

Welcome letters - Old piece of oak…and let me tell you, that’s the first time I’ve tried to scroll oak and sweet fancy Moses that was a shoulder workout.

Bigfoot and Lodge letters - Barnwood from a fallen barn in Canal Wi******er, OH.

Frame - Old fence boards from a church in Shawnee, OH.

Trees - Layers of old drawer bottom panels we’ve collected along the way, glued together at different thicknesses to create the depth.

House and mountains - Scrap wood
