Getting in some much needed painting today. This is the longest I've been able to sit still in weeks. Holiday season is in full swing and it can be overwhelming. I watched some feel good movies last night, and got myself into the spirit of things.

I've finally been able to calm down and enjoy the little life moments today. And without feeling anxious, it's win in my book.

I like to wind down with random you tube videos at night. Stumbled across this. It's cloudy here but up mauna kea is crisp and clear. I already saw three meteors on this feed. Kinda fun.

Take 2. I have a collection of photos from Mauna Loa Shores in Hilo. They had the most beautiful Hibiscus blooms this summer. I was dropping off a painting and had to wander around downstairs for a bit. I was so captivated by the flowers I took a bunch of pictures. I sold one like this already in Hilo to . This one may be headed to Washington state. Or it might be available this weekend... hard to say.

I'm bringing this one of tomorrow. I spent some time rearranging the water on it. I have a few going right now from that location. The water is so Beautiful inside the bay because of the white sand contrasting against the black lava. It's really underrated in my opinion.

I love reeds bay on a week day. It's pretty peaceful with the occasional people eating lunch or going for walks with their kids. I tried my best to get all the elements in on this painting. Hard thing about plein air is that the light changes every 5 minutes. At one point there was a squall and my art was about to be an ode to thunderstorm. But that rain passed offshore as quickly as it came up and the sky had patches of blue again. Swipe to see where I'm at with it. Hope you are having a great Monday.

Sometimes they're hard to stop. Winter has arrived in Hawaii and I hope everyone is getting some quality H20 time! Stay safe out there... I'll be taking those photos and trying to paint... lol

Inspired by the caldera eruptions this past year. The many fountains and lava lake pretty much stayed inside the volcano and was just a spectacular sight. Hapuu ferns and Ohia along the rim.

I liked this one. I carried it around to the market for a couple months. That gave me time to make micro adjustments to the colors. I sold it on Saturday to a lovely woman who is from Hilo. Always makes me happy to have my art around in the community. She had cute kids too. 😁

My friend Darlene 😘 I set up a small display table at a wine 🍷 tasting event in Hilo tonight. I was graciously accepted by the crowd. I sold a few pieces and am quite pleased. My friend Roanne was playing music and I even joined in for a song or two. As I was packing up my things a friend who runs karaoke was setting up. And we saw eachother earlier this week. We all laughed because as entrepreneurs we respect the hustle it takes to show up and run your business.

This weekend... I've been working on my collection of small paintings all week. They take soooo long! Ugh. I have some cute ones though. Looking forward to the market tomorrow.

We delivered this painting today. I took the Comission about 6 months ago from repeat clients who I ran into at Makuu market. I feel very blessed. My art lives in gorgeous places. What's funny is I went onto their balcony and pointed up the coast to Papaikou... There's a Cliffside home that also has my art right across the bay. (I wish I had an ocean view. ) Lol

The painting worked and I was happy to deliver it to such wonderful people. It was just set on the couch in this photo, it will be hung higher of course.

I'm so grateful for all the people who continue to support my art habit.

Iykyk I sure do miss this view. I spent some time on this one today, I think it's done. Rip pohoiki, this place is buried now under a gigantic swath of lava flow about idk 20 or 30 feet high. That happened in 2018.

Garden scene, I do love how lush it is out here.
This scene is inspired by my side yard. Ti, banana, ginger, and palms...this one has accent marks from a pen, it's a little different but I like the process, it's fun.

Right now it's raining and the coqui frogs are 🎶 serenading, I can not wait to snuggle with my Lucy dog.
