🌟 Meet Colin, a 3 ½-year-old bundle of energy with a love for cars, especially garbage trucks. He’s a proud big brother to Maggie and spends his days riding his scooter, playing baseball with his older brother, and watching his favorite movies on repeat. But, Colin is a cancer survivor.

Just a few months ago, Colin rang the victory bell after a battle with Nephroblastoma, a type of kidney cancer. Diagnosed shortly after birth with Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrome (BWS), a rare condition that predisposed him to childhood cancers, Colin's family lived in fear of the next cancer screening. That fear became reality when, at just 2 years old, Colin’s scans revealed cancer.

Thanks to the early screenings and the incredible care from the Dana Farber Institute and the Jimmy Fund, Colin’s cancer was caught early, and after months of chemotherapy, he is now CANCER FREE.

But Colin’s journey isn’t over. He will continue to have regular screenings for years to come, with the hope that any recurrence will be caught early. In the meantime, Colin is back to doing what every 3-year-old should be—living his best life.

This October, Weston Nurseries is walking for Colin and kids like him in the Jimmy Fund Walk. We’re rallying our community to join us in raising funds for the lifesaving work that the Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber do every day. Last year, we were in the TOP 10 corporate teams for fundraising, and this year, we’re aiming even higher.

Join us at Blooms, Brews, & BBQ on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 11am to 7pm and help us raise money for the Jimmy Fund at the Dana Farber Cancer Research Center!

There will be fantastic local bands, lots of kid’s activities, delicious local Hog Wash BBQ and Snappy Dogs, Uhlman’s ice cream, and cold refreshments, including Hopkinton’s own Start Line Brewery, Strong Side Brewing, and Marty’s Fine Wines.

Join us, walk with us, and help us make a difference. Every step, every dollar brings us closer to a future where kids like Colin can grow up without cancer.
