Parry-Romberg syndrome, also known as progressive facial hemiatrophy causes a loss of tissue on one side of the face, affecting the dermis, subcutaneous tissue, muscles and underlying bone. Morphea is a form of scleroderma that involves isolated patches of hardened skin on the face.
This is a before & after treatment photo of my sweet friend and former coworker. She has dealt with both conditions and was seeking a non-surgical treatment for facial symmetry. After multiple laser sessions, we added filler with subcision to one side of the face for balancing.🧘🏽‍♀️

As we age and lose facial volume, the contour of the face changes, causing shadow patterns to develop while youthful highlights fade. The goal of facial rejuvenation involves restoring volume and balancing muscles of the face. A different kind of shadow work🎨

This clients first appointment consisted of only .5mls in the lips to give them a little pop. However, more often than not, a half syringe will not leave you with the last effects of volume and definition that you are hoping for.
