In honor of Veterans Day, we would like to share this special video from 2007 which captures members of our community sharing their experiences with 8th grade students at Hinsdale Middle School. It is an abridged version of World War II Day: Memories and Perspectives from the Front, produced in 2006 by Cosby Creative Associates and Mir Productions and funded by the District 181 Foundation for use within the schools. It was created for a special event hosted by the District 181 Foundation on Veterans Day 2007 to honor the participants and share their stories with the broader community. It's Unity Week in D181. This yea the D181 Foundation is proud to be the presenting sponsor of George Dennehy as he shares is message of compassion and overcoming obstacles at all D181 schools. George who was born without arms learned to play the guitar with his feet! Here he is at his first performance as a teenager and then later performing with The Goo Goo Dolls!

Students from the Madison Kids Care Club used their KIDS grant from the D181 Foundation to spread holiday cheer at Magnolia Senior Living. It was a wonderful day for the students and the residents.
