Oftentimes we get guests in the chair who want lower maintenance options for their overall look, but what exactly does low maintenance mean? What does it look like? Well, glad you asked 😉

🌿 Keep it rooted: most lower maintenance colors that involve lightening involve keeping your natural root in the equation. This can be done with grey blending to aid in transitioning away from a single, or keeping your highlights away from the root to create a softer grow out (glosses are still encouraged inbetween lightening services!)

🌼 Keep it natural: any look that alters your natural base color will leave a “line of demarcation” aka a root line! When picking a lower maintenance color always keep your natural color in mind for the final look

☀️ Sun kissed simplicity: a hand painted balayage is often the choice that gives you the best of both keeping your natural base in mind as well as staying rooty.

🎭 Mask it: For our gray guests who dont want highlights for gray blending… we got you! You can do a single with demi permanent color. View has gray blending up to a certain percentage of gray. Allowing for a softer, more natural finish to mask your grays without harsh line of grow out that comes with the full coverage

Today on our second to last day of Styled + Sustainable we are talking about what happens with some of the items we send off to Green Circle… where do they go and what do they do with it 🤔

♻️ Hair clippings: made into new products such as garbage bins, used for research to develop insulation, or turned into items for humanitarian efforts (such as pet beds for shelter animals 🐾)
♻️ Color: Separated into water and oil. Water get put back into the water system and oil is used for fuel ⛽
♻️ Foils/Color Tubes: melted down into aluminum and used to make bicycle parts 🚲
♻️ PPE: processed into ash to be used as filler in asphalt or brick 🧱

Today on Styled + Sustainable were here to ask… Did you know that using a 50/50 of both disposable and reusable towels is the most sustainable option for a salon?🌍♻️ disposable towels are like regular towels, but with an eco-friendly twist! These towels are made from renewable materials, meaning they help reduce waste in salons and lessen environmental impact, keeping us green, and your hair dry 🙌🏻 best of all? They are 100% biodegradable 💚

Today on Styled + Sustainable, we kept 11.7 lbs of color waste out of the ocean by recycling this big ol’ bag of color!🌊

Part of being a Green circle salon means recycling all our unused color. This massive bag of color will be sent off to get separated into its two key components, oil and water! The water will be recycled back into the water system and the oil is used to make fuel!⛽

Life is balance

We’ve adopted a four day work week with the hopes to give our team a happier, healthier - work/life balance.

We have also started a one hour lunch
break for the whole staff so that we have time to recharge and be our best for every single guest.

In creating a healthier work schedule for our team, we are not
loosing those coveted late nights + Saturday appointments.
We will have a rotational schedule that allows our guests to be able to get in the books with no problem while also giving our team time to recharge.

Extensions _ bringing herself back

This amazing warrior has been fighting Lupus since she was 19 _ she used to have full, thick hair but lost so much due to her autoimmune disease.

She came to us wanting to feel herself again _ she wanted to feel natural _ she wanted to be able to have a side braid again 🙌🏼 So of course, we obliged.

Thaya color matched her existing color + did a partial length of hand-tied extensions to give a naturally thicker look. We’re so honored to be able to bring a little piece of peace to this fighter 💪🏼🫶🏼
