In our Aftercare classroom, children learn about magnetism as we experiment with and begin identifying magnetic and non-magnetic objects. After testing objects, we invited children to explore playing and using magnets.
Many children enjoy arranging or lining up materials in a certain way. Though this may seem like a simple way to play, this promotes persistence as children follow through on a task, visual-spatial awareness, and helps develop hand-eye coordination. The way children choose to line up objects also demonstrates inventiveness in thinking.

How many times will your bored kids open-close-open the refrigerator this summer? The answer is a million (more or less), followed by the words, “There’s nothing to eat/drink/do.” Unless they can go to camp. Which they can do – even if you didn’t sign up last winter (camp may even be part of your employee benefits – make sure to check). 🍉☀️
Save a refrigerator. Send them to camp – spaces at Steve & Kate’s available right now (really!).
