In Ottawa County, we understand that some residents have made mistakes in their pasts, have served their sentences, and are on roads to better lives. Criminal records can put obstacles in those paths for those residents and their families. We want to ease that burden so these residents can more easily find jobs, housing and other opportunities for better futures. That's why the Public Defender Office is hosting an expungement clinic for those wishing to have a criminal conviction set aside. Complete the pre-registration form at tinyurl.com/hollandexpunge to make an appointment. The preregistration form is in English and Spanish. Spanish-speaking attorneys will be available at the clinic.
One of the biggest challenges we face as men is the pressure to maintain control in an ever-changing environment – at home, throughout our workday, in our relationships, or even over our emotions. This graphic shared by Souls Journey with Sarah is a helpful reminder that our sphere of control ends with us – our behaviors, boundaries, actions, and mindsets. Life becomes much more manageable when we stop trying to control the world around us.
What specific things do you realize are in or out of your control? How does that make you feel? We'd love to hear your thoughts!
WSCS office will be closed today in observance of Labor Day. Thank you to all the hard workers we know!
