Super Sexy Sexy Superhero
Super Sexy Sexy Superhero is a new premium show at Second City Hollywood brought to you by writer/director Nicole Williams (Live Rude Girls), Music and Lyrics by Dan Wessels (177-Fox, In Trump We Trust), and Musical Direction by Jose Acain.
About six months ago, Nicole happened to read Joss Whedon’s never-produced Wonder Woman spec script. It was one of the most sexist portrayals of a woman she had read since she checked an Entourage script out of the WGA library. An idea was born for a show entitled Joss Whedon’s Wonder Woman: A Fair Use Parody. When Nicole actually set about writing the script outline, she was inspired by the #TimesUp movement and ended up fleshing out a script about the Hollywood machine and its treatment of women.
In November, Nicole brought the idea of Joss Whedon’s Wonder Woman: A Fair Use Parody to Dan Wessels, who replied “you mean Captain America starring Wonder Woman?”. Nicole knew that when she had the opportunity to write the show, Dan would have to write the music and lyrics.
Jose Acain is a musical director at Second City, who graduated with Nicole from the Second City Hollywood Directing program. The two of them enjoyed collaborating together during that program, and Jose’s musical direction skills and audio recording skills are a critical addition to this show.
