Let’s talk about the big “M” word that many women silently suffer from and some men.
MASTITIS😵💫😖
Mastitis is an inflammation of breast tissue that sometimes involves an infection. The inflammation results in breast pain, swelling, warmth and redness. You might also have fever and chills.
Some think taking pain pills will help, but seeing your primary care doctor or OB is highly recommended‼️
➡️ What Causes Mastitis:
Milk that is trapped in the breast is the main cause of mastitis. Other causes include:
🥴A blocked milk duct.
🥴 Bacteria entering your breast.
Share a symptom you had if you had/have mastitis!
And I’m feeling good!!! 😎

January is 🩵 Let’s look at it by the numbers🔢
👉🏾 Cervical cancer occurs most often in people over age 30.
👉🏾 Each year in the United States, about 11,500 new cases of cervical cancer are diagnosed.
👉🏾 More than 90% of cervical cancers are caused by HPV, for which there is a vaccine!
But most importantly, vaccination and regular screenings are VITAL to the prevention and early detection of cervical cancer ☝🏾

I know you’ve heard of them, but here’s all the 411 on Intrauterine Devices (IUDs).
An IUD is a long-acting reversible contraceptive option that is 99% effective at preventing pregnancy.
Inserted into your uterus through your cervix, the pain felt upon insertion varies from woman to woman. The T-shaped device’s small strings can be felt through the cervix to indicate it’s still in place and working as it should!
IUDs are offered in both hormonal and non-hormonal options and can last for years without being thought about again.
Think an IUD might be right for you? Call or book an appointment through the link in our bio and let’s talk about it!

This is a hysteroscopy! During a hysteroscopy, the patient’s cervix is dilated before a slim instrument with a light and camera on the end is inserted that allows your doctor to see the lining of your uterus. Viewing your uterus lining on a screen, we’re able to check for polyps and take tissue samples if necessary.
A hysteroscopy is often done to diagnose and treat the causes of abnormal bleeding. This is a minor procedure, and afterwards you may experience cramping or light bleeding.

Happy December! ❄️Before we officially deck the halls, let’s take a minute to acknowledge ! Today (and all month) we spread awareness about HIV and AIDS and stopping the spread. Here are some fast facts ⬇️
❤️HIV is the virus that causes Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, also known as AIDS. It compromises a person’s immune system, leaving them vulnerable to all kinds of bacteria and viruses.
❤️HIV is spread through semen, vaginal fluids, blood, and breast milk.
❤️Advancements in science have brought about the daily PRep pill and ART therapy that lowers a person’s viral load, eventually making the HIV in their body undetectable and unable to spread. 🙌🏾
❤️One in 4 people living with HIV in the United States are women, with women of color being disproportionately affected.
