That’s Impressive Branding

I think by now that anyone who knows me knows that I love entrepreneurship. Seeing people do what they enjoy and are good at is exciting to me, thats why I started my design studio. I could go on a rant explaining the realities of branding but ill save that for another time. In this post I want to share about what makes a good logo because I see several people starting businesses lately, getting logos of Fiverr, or designing their own in Canva, im not against any of that we all start somewhere and to be honest you can have a crap logo and offer an amazing experience to your customer and do just fine in business. But when considering your logo consider these things...

Is it able to be scaled large or small and still be recognizable?

Does the logo fit all of the possible applications your business will need? (i.e., social media, videos, flyers, billboards, round or curved objects, small objects, etc...)

Can you still make out the logo clearly if it was all in one color like black or white (remember some places your brand colors may clash with a collaborators or may not fit will amongst the other logos)

Bonus tip #1: Your logo is not supposed to be an illustration of what you do but it is simply an identifier of who you are. Your work, your messaging, your website, your posts, etc.. will have plenty of opportunity to communicate what you do.

Bonus tip #2: A logo itself will be limiting for most businesses, think about promotional items you've designed before, just adding a logo and some text is pretty plain and not very engaging. Instead, having a brand color palette, strategically chosen font pairings, and other brand assets like icons and brand patterns, will really help liven up your marketing materials!
