Although we send bills out on time, there may be postal delays due to weather or other factors. To make sure you receive statements regularly, we encourage HG&E customers to create an online account and select electronic billing. Once enrolled, you can choose the environmentally-friendly paperless option to skip mail entirely or receive emails in addition to regular mail. Email is the most reliable way to get your bill on time without interruption.

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center recently announced a pilot program that aims to decarbonize commercial facilities and multi-family buildings. Connected Homes is a smart device program that leverages the technology of WiFi-connected devices into savings for its MLPs and customers. Connected Homes makes brief, limited adjustments to enrolled devices during times of peak electric demand. We've all heard of a weather forecast, but have you ever heard of an energy forecast?☀️💡

At HG&E, we are particularly interested in the energy forecast - anticipating how much electricity our customers will need and when they will need it. This week, because of the heat wave, we are expecting customers to use a higher than usual amount of electricity. In fact, demand for electricity could be higher this week than it has been all year!

Help us mitigate the effects of the electric peak by reducing your electric use over the next few evenings between 4 pm and 7 pm! Reducing usage during peak periods helps HG&E keep rates stable and carbon emissions low.

HG&E Crews are at the intersection of South Street and Northampton Street making necessary repairs to underground utility infrastructure. Throughout these repairs, HG&E will work to keep one lane open for traffic to flow safely in both directions. There will be no service interruptions associated with the repair. Come visit the Robert Barrett Fishway this weekend and experience the incredible journey of anadromous fish species migrating up the Connecticut River! This season, the fishway has lifted 226,759 American Shad, 3,461 Sea Lamprey, 2,188 Blueback Herring, and many more.

In addition to the seasonal hours, the fishway is also open on Memorial Day from 9 am - 5 pm. The fishway is FREE and fun for visitors of all ages!

Public natural gas systems, like HG&E, are entrusted by their customers to deliver clean and affordable natural gas through a safe and reliable distribution pipeline system. To accomplish this mission, a forward-thinking natural gas utility constantly strives to improve its operating capabilities, overcome challenges, and adapt to its changing environment.

Out of approximately 750 APGA members, HG&E was selected for SOAR by its peers on the APGA Operations and Safety Committee. The selection was based on demonstrated excellence in the four areas of system integrity, system improvement, employee safety, and workforce development.
