2024 is a special year for Nail Savvy!
As of June 1st, 2024, Nail Savvy will have been in business under our current ownership for 29 years!
There are no words to express the sense of pride my mom, Kris Novak, and I have for staying in business this long, and our gratitude for our clients who have been with all these years, as well as every client who has become part of the Nail Savvy family since.

The history of Nail Savvy.
Nail Savvy was opened and owned for a couple of years by a woman named Sheryl Reiger. My sister Elizabeth (who is a pharmacist) and I worked for her starting while we were in high school. My mom babysat kids for a living and knew absolutely nothing about the self care industry. So, when Sheryl decided to move to Colorado and sell her business, my mom decided she’d like to have a career change at 42 years old and bought a nail salon. Considering both Elizabeth and I worked there (and she babysat Sheryl’s kids), she figured why not?
And so she did.

Immediately my mom went to school to become an esthetician where she not only touched so many woman’s lives by making them beautiful, but with her healing hands, she also got to know so many clients personally and touched their hearts as well.
As for myself, I worked the nail circuit by traveling to trade shows all over the country where I was fortunate to meet the leaders in the industry and with that, it lead me to the most incredible mentors. I was judging nail competitions and also wrote an article for our leading trade publication, Nailpro magazine. I worked for the gel company we use now and the no chip company we use as well. I did it so I could find the best products to bring back to the salon for my clients. That was and will ALWAYS be our number one priority.

In the first 2 decades of Nail Savvy, it was THE place to be! We were sure known for what we did and at the height of our glory we had 8 nail technicians and had to work our tables in shifts. As the industry changed, there were hard times, but Nail Savvy always endured… especially during the dark period of the pandemic. It could have torn us apart, but with the help of our clients, we got through it.
I wish there were more words than grateful and thankful.
I get an overwhelming feeling of joy because those of you that haven’t been with us since inception, tend to come in and find a new “home” right away and it humbles me. I am fortunate to say that I love my job and it’s because of you all, so one more time, thank you! ❤️
