Took this Waialua Resident’s from dirt ridden to clean and shiny. I’ve said it many times, any monkey can make a new car shiny, but bring one back from the dead, then I’d be impressed. Customer hasn’t cleaned it since they bought it aside of a drive thru car wash.

Hey Twenty20 Fans! Just wanted to let you know that we are making shirts and masks in honor of our 20 years! We wanted to have all kinds of events this year for making 20 years. Unfortunately, because of this pandemic, we couldn’t 😢 So we are hoping we can do something next year! Keep you guys posted!

Welcome to 2020 Auto Detailing | 20 20 Auto Detailing | Honolulu, Hawaii 2020 Auto Detailing is one of the longest thriving detail establishments. In our business, it was always our goal to achieve the highest customer satisfaction.

What starts off as a piece of coal, with the right know-how and process can become a diamond. Now, after a good cleaning, it’s back in business. Like I said before pay attention to the ones who post making shiny cars “Shiny.” Any monkey can make a new car shine, but can they bring one back from the dead?

The most disturbing news I’ve heard today, was of a detailer selling their particular brand of ceramic coating. The detailer sold them on the ceramic coating consists of wet sanding the paint(regardless if it’s new or not), high speed buffing the paint(buffing out the sanding scratches) applying the “Ceramic” coating. Charges them $4k for his Maserati. Customer pays it, goes back within a month, sees the swirls left behind and the detailer, again, wet sands the paint again, buffs it again and applies the ceramic coat again. Fast forward a year after the second coat, goes back again, and now the roof, hood and trunk is oxidized.

Q: What’s the problem?
A: Well, the first issue is why did he wet sand a brand new factory paint. The paints on cars now are thinner than they ever used to be. Part because of environmental regulations. Second issue, no brand new car NEEDS to be wet sanded or even high speed buffed unless there are major scratches. By applying the ceramic on the paint, the detailer just reduced any chance of reviving the clear coat to correct anything from that point on. Wet sanding is the LAST resort to a paint job, not ever the first.

Buyer beware!!! When being sold and researching the product itself. The ceramic is the new kid on the block and it’s selling point is that nothing sticks to it. Creating the ultra tight surface tension. This selling point doesn’t push the fact that you still need to clean and maintain your paint. The paint still gets dirty, it still needs to be clay barred from time to time and re polished. Ceramic is being sold as the end all, be all, no wash, no maintenance product. I can tell you now, there’s nothing, absolutely nothing on the market that does that.
So before you lose 2-3 mortgage payments on this sealant. Do some research, ask questions. It’s not cheap and it isn’t easy to apply either. Qualified people can install it, but it’s a pain in the ass. They will sell you on that, that itself is certain. You have questions, contact us, we’ll answer whatever questions we can. We’ve been doing this for 20 years.

Don’t be fooled by someone who makes a shiny car, shiny. Any monkey can take a brand new car and make it shine. Customers tell me quite often, they’ve tried other detailers, then they come to us and have never seen their cars look the way it does after we clean it. While ceramic coating is the new kid on the block, it hasn’t been proven for durability just yet. The process is laborious and extremely expensive. Do your research and you’ll find almost any car product has the word ceramic in it nowadays. Glare proven itself for over 15 years for us. None of our customers have had to come back to fix any issues except to re coat their new car. We haven’t been in business for 20 years to take advantage of anyone. We tell you like it is, and give you the direct answer. Night and day, Dirty to Clean.
