As a mortgage loan originator, I am often asked if I think mortgage rates will drop again anytime soon. My answer is that given the steady drop since the highs we saw in the 1980's, I don't believe so. In the big scheme of things, rates are still good, although not what they were just a few years ago.
What do you think?
5.0 star review received on Experience.com for Kathy Pang by Faye N - Answered all of our questions in a prompt timely manner. She was very knowledgeable about the business, knew the trends, timing of everything, accurately predicted what would happen.
Went over and above at the closing signing, made it such a special time. Helped me to realize we chose the right home. It made all the difference as I finished packing and the process of moving to our next home. Very glad Kathy was the one our Realtor recommended! Thankful and blessed as she walked us through.

Fed rate hikes are top of mind. Remember that the Feds control short-term rates and mortgages are long-term. Here is an article to shed light.
Fed Raises Rates: How The Fed's Rate Decisions Move Mortgage Rates | Bankrate The Fed's decisions don't drive mortgage rates as directly as they do other products, but players in the mortgage industry keep a close eye on the central bank, which recently hiked its key rate.

What You Need to Get a Mortgage: Do You Have It All? If you're wondering how to qualify for a mortgage, you're not alone. Do you just show up at a bank with a checkbook and a smile? Hardly!
Inflation, fear of a recession and the war in the Ukraine are causing mortgage rates to climb. In the big picture, 30 year fixed rates in the 5.00 - 6.00% range are still quite good.
What is the highest mortgage rate you have had personally? For me, it was 6.50%! The good news is that once you lock in your rate, we can always help you refinance if the market improves!
