Making baskets comes with time as you develop your touch. But reading the game and your defender is a far harder skill to learn without the right coaching.

The details of becoming a perfect offensive threat are almost endless.
In this drill they are given 2 different pickups into a jumper. But they must do one when their outside foot is forward, and another when their inside foot is forward.
The reason is our bodies natural angles work better or worse out of different footwork. So training the better mechanical move for the landed foot position makes your pickup smoother, which means more on balance, quicker, and more accurate.
If you have INTENT in your offensive actions, it will sell that INTENT to the defender.
Don’t just do a dribble move to do the move, do the move because it SELLS AN INTENTION IN THE MIND OF THE DEFENDER. Then do the opposite of that solid intention, and get a wide open shot.

There are 2 main parts of basketball, put the ball in the hoop, and stop the other team from putting the ball in the hoop.
Game drills are the only way to see game results. Never practice ANYTHING that you don’t see the best of the best doing in games.

There’s a grape sized hole that goes back deep in between my two little toes on the right foot. That’s the spider bite. The second smallest toe is my fault cause I jammed it myself against the foot of the bed.

No training turkey day.
Hope everyone had a happy thanksgiving! First year in forever that none of us cooked. Didn’t get the turkey and stuffing, but got to watch my ‘New to Hawaii’ family enjoy a new experience.
30 years ago I started learning the first level of basketball at this Kalakaua gym.
Now I hope to pass on the highest level of the game to the next generation.

Switch stance work is key to creating instant advantage angles. Most players only work on twisting their hips in live attack dribbles, but getting foot and knee alignment first is more important for injury prevention and higher physical potential.
