Now accepting inquiries for June 2025 in the Napa Valley and beyond. I promised myself that if I could help it, I'd never let this happen to anyone ever again.
Growing up, I always thought I would be a teacher or nurse, or something along those lines since both of those occupations run deep in my family. But, it wasn't until I was unexpectedly left without a photographer just 2 days before my own wedding that I knew EXACTLY what I would be doing with the rest of my life. So, I went to Best Buy and purchased my very first camera and started photographing
I always strive to make scheduling your session as easy as possible so that you don't have to stress about the process. Each and every time my clients leave reviews like this, it lets me know that my process is doing what it's supposed to do for you!! Thank you Naomi for sharing your experience with KCP.
I know just how important it is to support small businesses. They are the backbone of our communities and provide unique and personalized services that simply cannot be found elsewhere. That's why I always make an effort to leave a review after working with a small business, and I encourage you to do the same!
Your review can make all the difference for a small business owner. It can help them attract new customers, build their reputation, and ultimately grow their business. Plus, it feels great to know that you played a role in their success!
So, the next time you work with a small business, take a few minutes to write a heartfelt review. Share your experience, highlight what you loved about their service, and don't forget to give them a shoutout on social media. Trust me, it will mean the world to them!
Let's all do our part to support small businesses during these challenging times. Whether it's leaving a review, sharing a post, or making a purchase, every little bit helps. Together, we can make a difference in our communities and help small businesses thrive.

FIVE MINUTES!! Over the course of my career, I have invested THOUSANDS of dollars in education so that I can be the best possible photographer for each and every one of my couples and families. With crazy weather, including flooding in surrounding areas, and the inability to reschedule, we went for it and worked as efficiently as possible to capture some sweet memories to highlight their trip to Oahu. All of these were captured in less than 5 minutes.
So, WHY am I telling you this? Because who you hire to capture and document your memories matters! Their experience level matters. Being able to use time wisely matters. Having a posing system that works, matters. So choose someone who can thrive under pressure! Someone who can work quickly and efficiently while still producing stunning results. Someone who can think on their feet and come up with creative solutions when unexpected challenges arise. Someone who is passionate about their craft and dedicated to constantly improving.
As a photographer, I want you to know that you deserve the best. You deserve someone who will go above and beyond to make sure your memories are captured in the most beautiful way possible. Someone who will take the time to get to know you and your vision, and work with you to make it a reality.
So, if you're looking for a photographer who will give you the best possible experience, look no further. Whether it's for your wedding day, or capturing your growing family, I'm here for you.

Hi, I'm Kristen. Your light & colorful, natural light photographer who has been told I have the same sense of humor as a teenage boy...What can I say, I have a teenager!!
You may not know this, but my passion for photography, weddings in particular, started when my own wedding photographer didn't show up. That sense of dread is something I never want any of my couples to feel, so I have made it my personal mission to ensure that you are prepared for your wedding day and that you know you have a friend and professional in your corner to ensure your wedding day is as stress-free as possible.
My goal is to create a fun and relaxed atmosphere for you and your partner. I want you to feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera, so that I can capture the true essence of your relationship. Whether it's a silly moment or a romantic embrace, I will be there to capture it all.
So, if you're looking for a photographer who will make you laugh, help you feel comfortable, and capture the love between you and your partner, then let's chat! I can't wait to be a part of your big day and create memories that will last a lifetime.

UNPOPULAR OPINION: Your outfits can make or break your photos, so it's important to choose wisely.
When choosing your outfits, start by dressing the hardest person first. This could be the person who is most particular about what they wear or the person who has the most limited options in their wardrobe. Once the hardest person is dressed, you can coordinate the other outfits around theirs.
I always recommend at least one dressy outfit. This could be a long and flowy, or a cocktail dress for her and a suit or blazer for him. Dressing up adds an element of elegance and sophistication to your photos. It also gives you the opportunity to show off your style and personality.
Casual outfits are great for showing your playful and relaxed side and definitely recommended if you're going for a second outfit. Plus, they're usually more comfortable, which means you'll be able to move around and have fun during your session with poses that may otherwise be limited by the dressier outfits.
If you have insecurities in your arms, avoid sleeveless dresses. Remember, the most important thing is feeling confident in what you're wearing. If you feel great, it will show in your photos. So, take the time to plan your outfits and have fun with it!

Throwback to a beautiful collaboration with the talented who provided this stunning floral bouquet for a bridal session. Bridal sessions are a common practice in the southern states of the US and are a fantastic opportunity for brides to have a full trial run of their hair and makeup before the big day. It's also a chance for us photographers to capture some beautiful portraits of the bride in her stunning dress around the venue, whereas we wouldn't have the same amount of time on a wedding day.
One of the bridal portraits from this session is often displayed at the reception and serves as a cherished keepsake for the parents of the bride. As photographers, it's always a pleasure to capture these special moments that hold so much significance for the couple and their families.
Autumn's floral designs are truly breathtaking and this bouquet is no exception. The colors, textures, and overall design are stunning and add so much to the overall aesthetic of the portraits. It's important to remember that every detail of a wedding is chosen with care and holds meaning for the couple. As photographers, we strive to capture these details in a way that tells their unique story.
If you're a bride-to-be, I highly recommend scheduling a bridal session before your wedding day. It's a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera and to make any adjustments to your hair and makeup before the big day. And if you're a photographer, collaborating with other talented vendors, like Autumn, can take your work to the next level.

ππΈ TIP OF THE DAY!!!
Your engagement ring is a symbol of love and commitment, and it deserves to be showcased in the best possible way during your engagement session. As a photographer, I know how important it is to capture every little detail of your ring, from the cut and clarity to the color and carat.
To help make sure your ring looks its absolute best in your engagement photos, I recommend taking some time to clean it before your session. This will ensure that it's free of any dirt, grime, or residue that may have accumulated over time, and that it's ready to sparkle and shine in front of the camera.
There are a couple of ways you can clean your ring. One option is to take it to your local jeweler, who can clean it professionally and ensure that it's in good condition. Alternatively, you can clean it yourself using warm soapy water and a soft-bristled toothbrush. Just be sure to rinse it thoroughly and dry it off completely before your session.
Remember, your engagement session is all about celebrating your love and capturing this special time in your lives. By taking a few extra steps to ensure that your ring looks its best, you'll be able to treasure these photos for years to come.
Don't forget to share your own engagement ring cleaning tips in the comments below! And be sure to use the hashtags:
πππ There's nothing more rewarding than capturing beautiful moments that families can cherish for a lifetime. Rosie's review was a reminder of why I love doing what I do. It was an honor to work with her and her family, and seeing her appreciation for my work brought tears to my eyes.
I always strive to create a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere during my photo sessions, so that my clients can let their guard down and truly be themselves in front of the camera. Rosie and her family were no exception - we had so much fun during our session, and I think that really shows in the photos.
If you're looking for a photographer who will not only take stunning photos, but also make you feel at ease and have a great time, then look no further! I would love to work with you and create memories that you will cherish for years to come.
Thank you again to Rosie and her family for choosing me as their photographer. It was truly a pleasure working with you all!

πΆ"The sun is high and I'm holding on, I'm gonna be your number 1" πΆ
On a serious note, when the sun is high and you aren't quite ready for full sun on the beach, all you gotta do is find a tree and keep the subjects at the edge of the shadows and keep that sun off of their chest/faces.
Another tip I have for shooting in bright sunlight is to wear a white or light-colored reflective shirt. This will help bounce some of the light back onto your subject and reduce the bluish tint that can sometimes occur in bright sunlight. Plus, it's a lot easier to wear a reflective shirt than it is to carry around a reflector, especially on those windy days! Of course, I don't do this on wedding days, unless it's part of the dress code.
Remember, photography is all about experimentation and creativity. Don't be afraid to try new things and see what works for you. Whether you're shooting portraits, landscapes, or anything in between, there's always something new to learn and explore.
So, next time you're out shooting in bright sunlight, try finding a shaded area and wearing a reflective shirt. You might be surprised at the results! And don't forget to share your photos with us using the hashtags and . Happy shooting!
Phil and Jill were an absolute joy to work with! Their love for each other radiated throughout the entire session and it was truly a beautiful thing to witness. We chose to shoot at a local beach and despite the wind and waves, they were both such good sports and made the most of it.
As a photographer, there is nothing more rewarding than capturing the raw, genuine moments between two people in love. It's a privilege to be able to freeze those moments in time and create memories that will last a lifetime. I am so grateful to have been a part of this special time in Phil and Jill's lives and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for them.
If you're engaged or know someone who is, I highly recommend taking the time to schedule an engagement session. It's a wonderful way to celebrate your love and create memories that you'll cherish forever.
Happiest of New Year's you guys!!! Cheers to 2024 and all the joys that come with the start of something new!
As we begin this new year, I encourage you to take time to appreciate the small moments in life. Whether it's a quiet moment with loved ones, a beautiful sunset, or a random act of kindness, these simple pleasures can bring joy and meaning to our lives.
So here's to a year filled with love, laughter, and beautiful moments! Let's make the most of every day and create memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your story.

Let's talk posing tips!
As a wedding & portrait photographer, I know that posing is one of the most important aspects of photography. It can make or break a shot, so it's essential to get it right. Here are some posing tips that I swear by to help you look your best on your big day!
First and foremost, always remember to bend the knee closest to the camera. This simple pose creates a flattering angle and adds a natural curve to the body. It's a small adjustment that can make a big difference in your photos.
Next, make sure to let your arm relax away from your body instead of pressed into it. This creates a more natural and relaxed look, and it helps to avoid the dreaded arm squish that can happen when we press our arms against our bodies.
Lastly, make sure the camera is at or above eye level, not below. This creates more flattering angles for your jawlines and avoids the unflattering double chin effect that can happen when the camera is placed below eye level.
Remember, the goal of posing is to make you look and feel your best. Don't be afraid to experiment with different poses and angles to find what works for you!
So, whether you're having professional photos taken or just someone who wants to look good in their cell phone photos, these posing tips will help you look your best. Give them a try and see the difference they can make!
Every time I look at your photos, I am reminded of the love and joy that surrounds us all.
I hope that this holiday season brings you all so much happiness and that you get to spend it with your loved ones. Whether you're opening presents, baking cookies, or just enjoying each other's company, I hope that you cherish every moment.
And as we wrap up this year, I want to say thank you again to all of my amazing clients. You make my job so rewarding and I am truly blessed to have met each and every one of you. I can't wait to see what 2024 has in store for us!
Don't forget to tag me in your holiday photos and use the hashtag . Let's spread some joy and cheer this holiday season! β€οΈππΈ
As a wedding photographer, I have seen love in many forms, but there is something special about the love between two people who truly complement one another. Austin and Lisa, I can see that you have that kind of love.
Your surprise proposal and engagement session was so much fun! You both have such a great energy together and it was a joy to capture that on camera. The way you look at each other melts my heart and I know your love is going to last a lifetime.
To all the couples out there, remember to always cherish and celebrate your love. Whether it's with a photoshoot or just a quiet moment together, make time to appreciate each other. Love is a precious gift and it should be celebrated every day.
πΈ:
I cannot even begin to tell you how happy my heart is when I receive texts messages showing me how you've chosen to display the family photos we created together on the walls of your home!
π Seeing those memories come to life in your everyday surroundings is why I do what I do!
Being a family photographer is so much more than just taking pictures. It's about capturing the love, connection, and joy that you share with your family. It's about creating memories that will last a lifetime and beyond.
If you haven't had a family session with me yet, let's change that! I promise to make it a fun and memorable experience that you'll cherish forever. And if you have had a session with me, let's do it again! Your family is always growing and changing, and I would love to document those changes for you.
So, let's create some magical memories together!
As the holidays approach and you begin photographing your littles at home, let's talk about my top three favorite lighting tips to get those perfect skin tones.
First and foremost, lighting is everything when it comes to photography. Natural light is your best friend, so take advantage of any big windows in your home. Turn off all artificial lighting and place your adorable subject facing the window with the light coming from beside. This will create a beautiful soft light that will illuminate their face and make their eyes sparkle while creating soft highlights and shadows on those cute faces.
Secondly, if you don't have access to large windows and must use indoor lighting, avoid harsh overhead lighting as it can create unflattering shadows and make your subject look washed out. Instead, utilize lamps or string lights to create a cozy atmosphere and add a warm glow to your photos.
Lastly, if you take the littles outdoors on a sunny day, have them face their shadows. To avoid a hazy image from the sun hitting your camera, position yourself so the sun is just out of the frame. Make sure they can see lots of sky behind you!
Remember, the key to perfect skin tones is finding the right light and keeping it consistent throughout your at home mini-shoot. Experiment with different lighting techniques and see what works best for you and your subject.
Now that you have these tips in mind, grab your camera and start snapping away! Share your holiday photos with me using the hashtag and let's spread some joy this holiday season. π·πβ¨
Let's talk about the foundations for a stress-free photography experience, for both the photographer and the client!
When your clients trust you, they feel more comfortable in front of the camera, and the photos always turn out better. That's why I always make sure to build a relationship with my clients before the shoot. I ask them about their vision, their preferences, and their expectations. By doing this, I can tailor the experience to their needs and eliminate any potential surprises or misunderstandings.
Another important aspect of a successful photography session is preparation. Whether you're shooting a wedding, a portrait, or a landscape, you need to be ready for anything. That means checking your gear, scouting the location, and having a backup plan in case of bad weather or other unexpected issues.
Of course, once the shoot is over, the real work begins. Editing and retouching can take hours, but it's all worth it when you see the final product. I take pride in my editing skills and always strive to deliver beautiful, high-quality images that my clients will treasure for years to come.
If you're thinking about booking a photography session, I urge you to do your homework and choose a photographer who makes you feel comfortable and confident. Look for someone who has a professional portfolio and plenty of positive reviews. And don't be afraid to ask questions! A good photographer will be happy to answer any and all of your queries.
So, whether you're a seasoned pro or a novice, remember that trust, preparation, and skill are the keys to a successful photography experience. I can't wait to see the amazing photos you'll create! πΈβ¨

Outtakes may not always end up on the walls, but they sure do make for some fun memories to look back on and laugh. The goofy faces, tantrums (hey, it happens!!), and the unexpected giggles are what make your family so unique.

The last few days have been raining, so I'm reminiscing back to sunnier days at Lanikuhonua with Erika & Cody. Their wedding was at one of my favorite venues on island.
The sun was shining, the waves were crashing, and love was in the air! β¨ It was truly a magical day capturing their love story. From the getting ready moments to the heartfelt vows and the epic dance party, every moment was filled with so much joy and love.
Erika looked absolutely stunning in her dress, and Cody couldn't keep his eyes off of her. Their chemistry was undeniable, and it made my job as their photographer so easy! I loved seeing how much they truly love each other, and how much their families and friends love and support them.
It's days like this that remind me why I love being a wedding photographer. I get to capture moments that will be cherished for a lifetime, and it brings me so much happiness to be a part of such a special day. Congratulations again to Erika & Cody, thank you for trusting me to capture your love story!
