Despite their sleek appearance, a sharks skin is actually quite rough.🦈
Their skin is made up of denticles, small tooth-like scales. They are arranged in a mosaic pattern that surrounds their body. This acts as a supportive corset.
Since sharks do not have skeletal bones, their muscles used for swimming are directly attached to their denticles. This allows them to save energy and to swim faster without getting tired.🤩

Want to know why sharks are such incredible hunters?🤔
Sharks have what is known as electroreception. Around their face are tiny pores that act as honing devices. They are able to detect electrical currents of other organisms in the water that are then processed by their brain in the form or neurotransmitters.🧠✨
It is what many refer to as a sharks “6th sense”🤓🦈

Coming in for my close up 😉📸
Do you love sharks but struggle speaking out because you have a close friend that enjoys fishing? We’re here to tell you it’s time for you to be the influence.
Most sharks that are caught do not survive catch and release so it is important if you or a friend hook a shark to cut the line and release them immediately. The fishing community has to come together to oppose shark fishing tournaments, and implement responsible fishing practices. To learn more pick up your copy of ’s book “What You Should Know About Sharks” today 🙌🏽
