A 3 step mini-guide to calm your overthinking at night 😴
Well, "summer" is officially coming to an end next week. Not as far as the season or hot weather goes here in Hawaii! We still have a couple more months of that! Our seasons are based on when school starts again. And for us, we officially have a high-schooler starting at the end of the month! Wowza! I know it's cliche' but time really does fly doesn't it?
Business, work and life gets busy. However, one of my goals for this summer was to RELAX. Only a few things on the calendar above and beyond our normal. Creating white space on the calendar is so important to allow creativity and expansion. And rest to reset, refresh and renew. It's when I dream of new things to create for my coaching & retreat programs. Otherwise, I find myself probably like you in a spiral of overthinking and I get stuck not getting things done. And the next thing ya' know it's August!
And sometimes you just sit down and start. Getting into motion creates a feedback loop for continued motion. Sometimes it's a nudge. Sometimes it's a shove.
I followed my nudge this past week and decided to add some easy-wins for clients to get a better sense of what we do together to shift overthinking when you feel stuck.

Women often put the needs of others before their own and have a hard time saying no, even if it means sacrificing their own well-being.

Burnout forms from chronic workplace stress that is not successfully managed and can lead to problems like high-functioning anxiety, depression and even physical health problems. So, how do we stop it in its tracks?
One great way to do it is to set clear boundaries at work by not over explaining yourself, communicating with clarity, avoiding misplaced guilt, not taking on others work and taking all of your PTO!

But as we all know, when the warm weather hits, so can the sleepless nights. More light during the summer months means more suppression of melatonin, a hormone that helps us feel sleepy. Plus, being too warm when you're trying to sleep can have you tossing and turning.
So, how can we overcome summertime insomnia? 🤔
